I modified my 67 Black Panel Bassman from AB165 to AA864 specs on the normal channel and 5F6-A tweed specs on the bass channel. Then, since the AA864 has 1 less gain stage than the AB165, I had the unused pins 7, 8 and 9 from V2 added to the bass channel so it is higher gain like the Marshall JTM45 and so the channels were in phase again. Best of both worlds with an AB->Y pedal!
Thank you just for saying you're trying to be less divisive. This past year has left me numb with the level of pointless antagonism. It's a shame that there's no way to fill in the holes drilled in the chassis and panels. I look forward to seeing what you're able to accomplish with this old beauty.
