- In this video, my husband and I show you what we packed for our few months in South America. We are only travelling with carry-on luggage, which means a backpack and one personal item each. We believe in minimalist travel, so we decided to take this items with us for our few months in South America.

I believe lightweight things help a lot. I love it that my backpack is only 600g, plus the few light pouches really helps to keep weight down. My main backpack was packed really full, and I was still able to keep it below 6 kgs and way below the limit for the airplanes. :)

I have the osprey arcane too but 20l as a day bag when I have to go into the office.
I was thinking of posting a review of the new things I brought with me this time after a few months of using them, and I will include the powder. About the sunscreen, I was very surprised how fluid it is. I think I put waaay too much the first few times I used it now, because I could not tell where I already put it and where not. 😅 But no sunburns so far (at least on my face…), so I guess it’s working. 🤗

I don't know if you know the travel goods brand Curtlo, I just bought their everyday bag called Manaia and I love it, maybe it's similar to what you're looking for. If while you're here you need to buy light clothes that don't wrinkle, I recommend the Insider brand, the pieces are a little expensive, but of great quality and very durable.

I already looked at the Insider brand, it seems to be just what I need when my T-Shirts will start dying on me after a few months of constant wear. And thank you so much for the offer with the Portuguese. Maybe one day I will get in touch, but first I think I need to find my way around the language basics. 😂 As a German native speaker, Brazilian Portuguese is very difficult for me. I believe it sounds like you’re singing beautiful songs all the time, vs. my German dialect sounding like “puking”. 😂 I still think I have a long way to go. But Everson was born in Brazil, so he helps me out as good as he can.

Yes, I remove the brush head and then it fits in the main compartment of the Sea to Summit bag (size s), but it needs quite a lot of space in there. :)

Hi Maggi, could you please specify which Arc'teryx Hiking Pants you are using? Are you satisfied with them?
I am not sure about the exact model because I “stole” them from my mum and she cut out the labels. I think its a Creston pant though, because the look very similar to the Creston shorts I have since years. So far, they are comfortable. I did not wear them a lot yet because in Brazil its too hot at the moment for long pants. 😅
Hi Maggi, I just got to know your channel and I'm really enjoing watching your videos, I think they are very usefull and honest. Can you please tell me if this backpack from Osprey is confortable enough to carry for like 4 hours? I ask because I'm starting to travel with only a backpack but when I arrive at a destination, I usually have to wait a few hours before cheking in at my hotel, so I have to carry my backpack around the city. Besides its weight, I find it very important the straps.
Hi Raquel! I personally like the straps and find them quite comfortable and thick enough. But my bag is very lightweight, if I would pack many heavy things, then maybe the lack of a sternum strap or a hip strap could become annoying. But so far, I had no problem with it, also carrying it for longer periods of time. My husband on the other hand did not like my straps, but I also don’t like the straps on his backpack.. so I guess it always depends… 😂

Yeah, I also got TONS of the Tropicfeel advertising when I was traveling in Spain and Portugal this summer. 😂
So far, I am not very impressed with them. They are comfortable, but my feet get quite stinky in them, even when I am wearing socks (which is not something that happens to me in a lot of shoes). Also, one seam at the heel is already coming apart. They are sending me a free replacement, but unfortunately to Austria, so the shoes have to hold up until May here in Brazil. 😂
I was thinking of doing a video about some of the new gear I brought with me on this trip and how it held up / how useful it was after a few months of constant use, and I will make sure to include the shoes. :)

I've heard people saying both good and bad things about them, they sure are strong in terms of marketing and ads and they know how to sell them, but they aren't cheap and are an investment. Just wanna make sure that the money is well invested or if I should put my money on another "horse". Abraço para os dois, boas caipirinhas!
@@theeverydaytechie I agree, they are a marketing machine. ;-) But I honestly think I would not buy them again. Before that, I used the Vans Ultrarange, and I think I will switch back to them once these ones die on me.
@@MaggiFuchs I am quite undecided about the tropicfeel, the ultrarange and adidas superboost. I want a shoe that's comfortable, lightweight and breathable. So far I've only tried the ultraboost and they were very comfortable, but I'll be looking into it. Thanks!

Luckily we don’t own a lot of things since we gave up our apartment. We have a bag each at my parents place (with winter clothes, important papers etc.), plus we still own a car that we put in storage while we are gone (and we have a few random things there in the trunk).

What airline do you have to wear masks again? That is ridiculous.
It‘s Brazilian law so we had to wear it on all flights to and in Brazil. There are still many places other places we had to wear masks, e.g. in trains in Germany.
In a way good idea as so many catchable germs on planes @@MaggiFuchs
