Hi there! My name is Beth.
📚🖋️I'm a reader and graphic designer in Ohio (US)!
I think you should judge books by their covers.
There. I said it.
Why? Because of that wonder you feel when you pick up a book. And the inner conflict when - after you’ve read it - you can’t quite let it go, eeeeven if it doesn’t quite measure up.
Graphic designers like me are hired to inspire those feels!
On my channel we’ll talk about books we decide are shelf-worthy, inside and out, and the ones you should still read anyway :)
✨What book on your to-be-read shelf has the prettiest spine?
Mom-Cameo! ❤
I think I've read retellings of Snow White that include a sister named Rose Red before. I wonder where thay originated from 🤔
Snow White and Rose Red is the original German fairy tale that was included in the Brothers’ Grimm (1837). There is but one dwarf, and he is not sleepy or happy. Having just read the book, I can say that it does tie pretty strongly to the original, with some fun variations that give it a more childlike resolution, instead of the traditional fairytale wedding and happy ever after.
My hardback copy of Dangerous Woman by Hope Adams has a nice spine. I love the Shady Hollow books. I have an idea for a future prompt. Read a non fiction book that the subject is mentioned in a fiction book, or a non fiction based on true events. As an example the book I am reading Dangerous Woman is fiction murder mystery based on a ship that took female convicts to Australia. The non fiction book I am going to read Is the Floating Brothel.
Great prompt ideas! I’ll add them to the jar :) they may potentially cause a library lag, because those are so specific, but could be worth it 😄
@@covergirlbooks I love pairing a fiction and non fiction together
