      @bad1dobby Rubbish. Literacy and numeracy skills have fallen in Australian schools and there is no evidence that IQ is steadily increasing. University and TAFE passing marks have dropped through the floor. Ignorance is the new status quo.

      bad1dobby .be nice if they used this higher intelligence. Mentioned a city’s name in Australia to a 20 year old some time ago, at least 10 years schooling, the reply, where is that, never heard of it!! If I however asked this person to show me something on my phone,it would be no problem. This to me is a bit like learning how to jump,but when you hit the ground,not knowing how to react..

    • @oxorox972
      @oxorox972 Před 3 lety +1

      @@cherylween4973 BECAUSE they use spell check and not a legit dictionary. Oh, and ignorance. Oh, and poor education (due to the students themselves or their teachers). Simple. Nowadays I think it starts with educators lacking skills in literacy and numeracy. Flow on effects to students who, by and large are not encouraged to strive towards their potential. Top down. Our governments do not uphold policy that encourages academic brilliance. Perhaps politicians responsible are scared they will be overtaken by more intelligent people and have to cede their power. The people of many countries have certainly been dumbed down.

      Comedy is only funny is it's lame and tame now. The worst are the non white "comedians", who get a laugh so the audience don't feel waisist, while their material is basically anti western political sound bites.

    • @AsinineComment
      @AsinineComment Před 2 lety +1

      Some Comedy Company sketches were clever and well written (not this one), and some of the actors were very good. Gyngell for example, was and is far more skilled than Mitchell.
      Every era - decades before Comedy Company, or decades since - has had 1 or 2 sketch comedy shows that were great, a few more that were terrible, and plenty that were patchy, like this one and hugely popular at the time. (Ditto for regular family drama series. Neighbours was massively popular for yonks, but nobody has ever said that it was well written or acted - it's just clichéd trash. Rushed writing, rushed production - pump it out a.s.a.p. for the people who don't want or need anything to be done well. 🤷🏼‍♂️)

    I was trying to use another sketch from this show to illustrate a point of how in Australia we have been cultured out and criticised for everything that is great about our nation and its culture . Shows like this would not get a shot today as in the PC, SJW, Snowflake society of today , someone or some over educated University Graduate would find something , offensive, about it and turn it into a racist, sexist , or some other crazy anti Australian White Guilt , agenda that benefits their course and erodes all that we love about being Australian away. We laugh at ourselves , take piss out one and all , but now that is insensitive and under PC laws not allowed. Having a joke and laughing is good for the soul and if is offends someone ? Toughen Up Princess !
