Dvj is one of those kinds of characters that is beloved by many but also just as hated by many. There will never not be devil jin up players or down players. He could be even worse and some floated red rank scrub on reddit will still say some shi like "bruh i'm a garyu and he's busted" as if that means anything. The opposite honestly, he doesnt really have any gimmick. Hes pure tekken, the most painfully honest character in the game. Honest to god if u get hit by anything its on you, devil jin is the hardest character to play right now. If you lose to dvj they simply played better. Not even bias cause i main jin kazuya and dvj, so i have two strong characters on my roster, but dvj really sucks
No, he was given fake gimmicks in his new MC stance but lost a lot of the properties on his moves that him fundamentally useable. He literally has no gimmicks, his moves were neutered. As the poster above stated, he basically plays no frills tekken and all his stuff that was supposed to be scary were either nerfed or found out to be fake mixes. He has to play fundamental, thats literally all he has left.
I dropped Jin for devil jin and do a lot of hit confirming/less Tekken on autopilot, as a result I'm way more locked in and am more easily blocking lows on reaction
Am I seriously the only person who doesn't think DJ is bad right now?? Like his kit functions as it should. good pressure, good mix-ups, great pokes, great punishes, great damage, good movement. The only drawback is how easily he's punished for guessing the mixup
That's how it is, he's hard to be consistent with his mixup because of his limited options And you can't expect your opponent to guess wrong everytime, if it's blocked or sidestepped You're fked, and unlike other chara he HAS to hellsweep
i don't think he's good at poking, he's bad at close range neutral and he has to rely on gimmicks and risky mix-ups. Players with good fundamentals are just making dvj look strong.
@@Andriewidjaja He definitely doesn't have to hellsweep. Maybe to open your opponent up to the mixup. I often mix hellsweep with d3+4 once I get them open. And often times I make the opponent respect the pressure by using his armor reversal when they start getting comfortable enough to press

Hellsweep isnt even his best funnily enough it is his guard break semi charged.
They have to updgrade this hellsweep to combo launcher
