Really love that you take such an in-depth look at all the scope options out there for us. I'm Rea getting one soon and you're really helping people like me with a limited budget. Thank you
Great to hear! There are a lot of options out there, it can be difficult to decide
Great video Darren as always, keep up the great work buddy

Excellent video darren 👍looks like a good bit of kit!
Quality review as always Darren .
100 percent recommend Mechanic Mindset
Best training available 👍
Cheers mate! Hope you’re enjoying your CarScope!
Excellent Darren 👍
I only have the hantek oscilloscope . but its been so helpful . and has definitely payed itself off
For sure! It does the job. Gonna do more videos with mine soon 👍
You always present your videos with an ordinary-man-in-the-street in mind. What a great teacher you are. I'm in South Africa and are struggling to buy this scope. Any suggestion?
Sorry, not sure what to suggest. There are other options if you really struggle to get this model. Maybe contact them directly. Thanks!
I like the Stop for googling
🤣 I couldn’t remember the word
It's been over 12 months since I've watched this. I finally decided to bite the bullet and I got one today. It's time for me to sign up to mechanic mindset and expand my knowledge.
Awesome! Let me know if you have any questions 👍
@MechanicMindset I'll hopefully sign up this weekend. Oscilloscope masters is what I'm after. Thanks
Hola este osciloscopio se puede usar con Windows 10??
@@israelmaxwell4978 I'd say so. I have it on my Windows 11. So I think it should work on Windows 10.
Solid video D. Good scope thats under 500US. With custom probes application.
It’s a great deal for a 4 channel scope. The rotational rulers is also a bonus!
@@MechanicMindset had enquired about it a while back before they made the upgrades on the software.looking really good.

Glad you enjoyed the video Nick! Thanka
Hi , thank"s for share this Oscilloscope Tutorials , can you make a real time testing in the car MAF sensor petrol and other stuff width this oscilloscope if you have time please ?
Thank"s in advance
Greatings from Portugal
plz make one option AWG plz explain how to use
Like your videos. Is this good enough for professional use or more DIY?
Yes, good enough for professional 👍
Amazing video as always. Would you recommend this over a lower grade picoscope or can you recommend a picoscope around the same price point? Thank you
I think for a 4 channel scope, you won’t find many options for this price. This also has the added benefits of automotive tests, filter options and the decoupled LAN connection. If you think you might upgrade in the future, the Pico might be the better option. It probably has wider support too. This is the dilemma!
@@MechanicMindset This is also my dilema. I can't afford the Pico automotive scope..so should I buy something like this and then later upgrade to the Pico automotive? Or is there a better upgrade path starting with the regular 2 channel picoscope. I'm brand new to automotive scopes.
Would like to see USB AutoScope IV review.....!
So…because of the shared grounds, is there still the risk of “smoking” your scope or getting “back feed” issues (like the misfire you demonstrated on your other video)?
What budget oscilloscope would you recommend please
Thanks for your review, great value for what it can do.
can you tell us what the vertical resolution is? I've looked on their site but couldn't find anything.
It’s 8bit, I found it if you click the specs tab on product page. Cheers!
@@MechanicMindset thanks :)
Hello friend, my English is not very good, what is the final conclusion? Is it a good option or is it better to buy something else? Thank you.
Would like to buy it as I'm new too car scoping guess it's good on spec's and features
For sure, does the job nicely. Good features and 4 channels for a good price
Great info on using oscilloscopes I have a Hantek 6074be, with it being a shared ground how would you test injectors using a back probe and a amp clamp at the same time, as I have seen on one of your videos the earth side turns in to live when the engine is running ?
Cheers. If you put all the negative cable on chassis ground, you’ll have no issues 👍
Thank you for your help
Interested in this scope for awhile but what's the difference between the Blue plus and the Green Enter model ?
Check this out, some comparisons here autoditex.com/cms/user/files/carscopescomparison.pdf
Nice review 👍 i still have a doubt though. I oscillate between this and Pico 2000 series (can't afford the automotive 4ch pico) Except the fact that Pico has possibles updates in the future, just between these two oscilloscopes, would you be kind and advise? Which one and why? Thanks
You wouldn’t have to spend much to try the Pico 2000. As for the 4 channels, the specs are similar. The Ditex has some automotive features in there but has external power supply and LAN connections. The Pico doesn’t have automotive software but the oscilloscope softwares are pretty much the same, so if you upgrade to automotive, you carry all the learning over too. And it’s USB based. Always going to be a tough choice at the budget end
@@MechanicMindset thanks, but in terms of the resolution, data aquiring, and overall usage and versatility, which one would you recommend? your personal prefference if you can tell. I am aware that most techs use Pico (4ch usually) I was thinking a dedicated automotive oscilloscope would be the way to go, but i see many use the 2000 series also. And saw a comparison of a guy from US with Autel, Hantek, Pico 20 and 44. Also my main concern is probably how often would i need the 4 channels (i do service motocycles not cars). Because the Ditex and Autel is on the affordable side of 4 ch osci. and now i'm stuck if i will use often or not all 4 ch.
That was a nice review, great job as always, thank you!! So 4 channels with preloaded automotive features!! Pretty impressive! Does this compare to the Pico 4425A? Can this be purchased from the US?
Cheers! I believe there are Ditex distributers in the US. As for comparison, this is a quarter of the price, specs aren’t the same but it performs well 👍
@@MechanicMindset My 2204A is arriving tomorrow. Hantek cables, and piercing probes arrived today. Downloading Pico 7. Since I don't know Pico 6, why not learn where Pico is going, as opposed to where they have been.
@@dalebabbitt6185 Awesome, youll be happy with that tool. For sure! I think some people are comfortable with Pico 6 as they have used it for so long. There are a few features to still come over from 6 but it’s 99% there 👍
Hi Darren I have a pico 2204a could you tell your thoughts on getting a ditex automotive scope or should I just keep with pico and maybe put more money in @ 4 series pico automotive I have been looking for a second hand one anyway be blunt and give me your thoughts
Cheers mate leigh from far Nth qld. Au
@Mechanic Mindset This is a question I have as well
I was wondering this also
Hi Darren, does this have the signal filter option where it ‘cleans” the signal?
Hi Adrian, yes I saw that option. From memory, it’s was a fixed filter. They have high pass and low pass filter options too
@@MechanicMindset Great, thank you.
i have a snapon vantage legend which has a 2 channel scope. i really want 4 channel scope but cannot afford a pico do you know of anything that is about the same as the snapon but not so much money
There are tablet oscilloscopes out there. Check out MicSig and Hantek. They do 4 channel units
I've been looking for a laptop based scope Can't afford a Pico right now. I was looking into this scope and also there pressure transducer and also the autel mp408, which do you honestly think is better, pros and cons, please help.
Hello - Please do not buy the Autel MP408 absolutely terrible scope . It’s a Hantek unit with awful software slow interface and really bad connection issues even with the top line Autel machine the scope was hopeless . Personally the Ditex knocks it out the park . A lot of scope features you expect as standard on the Autel MP408 are just missing , it lasted 3 month then sold on . 👍
I definitely will be getting one. thanks for taking the time to comment.
Suba un video trabajando en un auto por favor
im going to jump straight to the 4425 2 channel scope i think , would love the 4 channel but would i need 4 channels ? i no it would be good for monitoring all 4 injectors at once to see inconsistancys but do ireally need the 4 channel
I think you’d regret not getting the 4 channel. Even when we want timing in a twin cam engine, you might already want 3 there. You in the UK?
@MechanicMindset hi Darren yes I keep thinking I'd regret that , my name is Ben, I keep trying to set up on the your corse with no luck at the the moment I think its some thing to do with the bank account or strip code but will keep trying, cheers
I just joined your oscilloscope training course and as it stands I only have the Picoscope 2204A scope. I have been wanting to get the 4425A but it is rather expensive. The previous version without the BNC+ connectors is no longer available. I was thinking I don't need the feature where the scope automatically detects the probe attached. It's nice, but I can do that manually. Then I watched this review and that scope is less than $500. Is there any reason I should spend the extra money to get a Pico instead of this unit? It appears to be relatively easy to use the software and has the capability of any other scope regardless of cost for the purposes of automotive diagnostics.
This is a nice scope for the money. Software works nicely. As long as you have the LAN cable and don’t mind connecting the 12V power supply 👍
@@MechanicMindset thank you very much. If I can save over $1K I'll use a power supply and set up my attachments manually.
is there a voltage limit?
like 20v on pico
It seems this oscilloscope is 20V also
is it fast enough for CAN though ?
Ah yeah, for sure. 20Million Samples a second. You can get CAN on a Hantek 1008C 2.4Million samples. Nearly 10 times ‘slower’.
Can this hook up with my xtool d9 pro scanner?
I’m not sure, if it’s an Android based tablet, I doubt it. If it’s windows based, maybe
Is it faster than snap on?
I can’t find the Same rate spec and there are a few tools available. This tool is 20MS/s
quick question ''PicoScope 2204A-D2'' vs ''DITEX CarScope Plus Oscilloscope'' if you're starting off what would you recommend & ''20MS/s'' are both the same?
As I run with both in my tool kit I would say for the money the Pico is amazing , although only two channels . The Ditex is 4 channel and fantastic in field I would start with Pico
When clicking on the download nothing downloads, is there another way to get it?
For the Ditex software? I messaged them, they are uploading it tomorrow. Alternatively, email me directly (from MechanicMindset.com) and I’ll share the link they sent me 👍
Would this scope work with the Master 2?
It's be nice if it could.
I don’t think so. You could get a Hantek to work if you could get HScope on there. I have the TC Max with the scope, we’ll have a look at the ThinkCar scope soon 👍
Did you buy the Master 2? How do you like it?
@@MechanicMindset After I posted the comment I saw that it's windows based. I actually did order the Master 2, and also the Thinkprog 2 for key/ecu cloning and programming. They will be delivered next week. I'm counting the days 🤣🤣🤣
@@MrClarck100 Awesome! Let us know how you get on 👍 Master 2 is a nice tool
@@MechanicMindset I finally pick up my Master 2 yesterday, just playing with stuff it's light years ahead of the Ancel X7 that I've been using. But the charging takes ages, the battery was drained during software update, it took over night to get to 60%. What is your experience with that?
Will you be reviewing the Rotkee scope any time?
An English use description would be terrific
Yes, they will be sending one over soon hopefully 👍
I would be grateful if you could do it. I am interested in buying it but there is not much information available and anyway I would prefer Darren’s opinion as he has done such a good job on his reviews.
To bad they r out of stock
@@bcored yes,war and supply chain issues can have that effect,Rotkee has been great at updating his situation in Ukraine though through Facebook.
Where would got to order it
Maybe contact Ditex to find your nearest seller. Where are you based?
Where to find that snap on simulator?
Snap On dealer?
@@MechanicMindset I don't have snap on dealer in my place
@@abdulkreemalsultan134 I couldn’t find it for sale on line when I looked. It was about £200 GBP. There are other options out there, can’t remember the names of the tools though
Replic picoscope
Haha, it’s not the same. The software layout is very similar to a lot of the latest oscilloscope softwares 👍
I would like to see you working with this scope on a proper car, not on demo thing.
LAN none of my pc laptops have that anymore
Mine don’t either, but I have a USB to LAN converter; it might come with one!
@@MechanicMindset cool thanks
8 bit 🤔 mało
WTB by a laptop with a LAN port :P
True, not many have them anymore! You can get adapters. Ironically, they are USBx 🤣. Should still benefit from isolation though Id have thought
@@MechanicMindset they don't ?? LAN is still a very important port to have.
What sort of speed does the LAN comms actually operate at ? ie, add a small gigabit travel router in it's place to run wireless ?
I had contemplated this scope for ages, but their specs listed just seemed slow for likes of CAN, especially if using all 4 channels. Although actual spec detail was limited
@@blow0me No, the most modern laptops don’t. My laptop doesn’t. It’s no bother though, adapters are cheap. These specs are just fine for most automotive diagnostics, including CAN 👍
@@blow0me Maximum sampling rate: 4 independent 25 MSa/s ADCs. Excuse me, sir, but I would like to make a clarification. With CarScope PLUS, it doesn't matter how many channels are currently active. Each channel has independent ADC. So, 20MS/S are always achievable.
Lenovo ThinkPad T14, T16 Gen 1, Dell Latitude 3420, Latitude 3520, Latitude 5530, and many other new laptops have an RJ-45 Ethernet port. In other words, this port is available to almost all modern business laptops with high performance and durability.
My honest opinion after watching the video. Don't like the zoom that much. Don't be offended but not having tried a scope like the DITEX myself makes it easy for me to dislike something of course.
So many options out there! They all have their pos/negs. What’s your go to scope at the minute? 👍
