  • Which deep diving crankbaits work the best? Tim and Matt went through all of their favorites and picked out the top 8 baits that are worth your time this year. If these baits could tell the stories of the fish they've produced for us, you'd want to fish them all!
    It was difficult to just select 8 baits, especially from such a broad category. Crankbait fishing can be so diverse and a deep diving crankbait can be used in so many applications. From dredging the depths with an oversized bait to ticking shallow rock with a mid-diver, the opportunities are endless.
    In this video we are primarily covering the baits but below you'll find a breakdown that includes of some of the rods and reels we use for the technique. Also, hook selection is KEY to crankbait success so we will include those as well.

      Slow and easy until 2 until 4 then break out your square bills and wiggle wart style baits. Always keep top water walking bait tied on. Jigs worms a rigs drop shots c rig ned rig shake head swimbAits. All really depends on you're lake. Jerk baits if your into that is freaking killer for BIG BIG BIG fish. I hate em. Got a messed up wrist and I CANNOT find a rod reel combo that is comfortable to me. I'm a painter and boat and car detailer by trade, my wrists are in pain alot man. I hate top water walking baits. Except frogs. I can catch alot on them by imparting action on them with the reel handle and very slight rod twitches. Not like jerk baits or spook style baits

    Strike kings whole crank bait series is LEGIT fish catchers man. There's a reason so many g guys use them no doubt about it. 6th sense is good stuff on our home lake. Spro dd are LEGIT to. Johns from Virginia only 35 or 40 minutes from SML and Phillpot. 1 hour plus from kerr/buggs island. Some of the best crank bait fishing in the country.

  • @nrgreenresourcesonsulting

    Oh dudes, I fish a lot of rocky rivers and love cranking in late winter into spring, and the Rk Crawler looks like an amazing fit for a lot of the fishing that I do. The colors are phenomenal. In strictly my opinion, if you guys love the Strike King which for myself I’ve never had much luck with, and prior was never a fan of crankbait fishing at all until I met Timmy Horton and he gave me a signed azuma Zboss 10! Of course I didn’t fish with it I n turn for my appreciation called and ordered 3! I’ve fallen in love with crankbaits now! Caught my PB this past summer on crankbait! But as I started to say in my opinion u guys need to try Azuma Zboss crankbaits the Zboss 10 and 20 r great starters! You will flat love them and thank me

    Glad to see you guys giving Norman some love. And that color you held up too, man the secret is now out. If you would have asked me 15 years ago what my number 1 crank was I would have held up that same color in the Middle N or deep little N version. On my home lake in Michigan that crank in the 7' to 12' fishing range as put a lot of nice fish in the boat. I have caught a lot of them even in tough fishing days in MI,. New York, Ohio, North Carolina and Texas. The Normans just work. Too bad that color is starting to go away in several models.

I have a Lowrance HDS 7 and a 5 up on deck so it isn’t the clearest but better than nothing. Where do I go to fish these baits and what is the best way to find a group of bass? I mainly fish on guntersville

      @mattseifert Před 5 lety

      Luke Parker hey man, I can’t provide any professional insight like these too but as someone who struggled with the same thing (and is still working thru the bugs) I have two tips. First, don’t be afraid to “waste” a whole day driving around looking for schools on your graph. Second, just do it. I never trusted my abilities to fish offshore even after I found fish but one day I did it and had success and now I find it easier to consider that style. Hope this helps!

      Jarred, I have very mixed feelings on the subject. Truthfully I almost always throw them on a 7:1. Its a ton of work but that's the action I want, then when I can't take it anymore I drop down to a 5 or 6.
