The "Sex Sex Sex" in Death By Sex is a reference to the devil's number "666" since it is how you pronounce "six" in german, her native language !
Amazing reaction for an amazing an super creative album

She actually said that she wished she thinked about it, but theres no double meaning: she meant "sex, sex, sex" but we can interpret whatever way we want.

That’s awesome that this album can authentically convey that feeling so well that her fans relate to it on that level. It’s a fun album with deeper meaning.

Another halloween/horror inspired album is *Clipping’s “There Existed an Addiction to Blood”* and its sequel *”Visions of Bodies Being Burned”* though it might jot be to everyone’s tastes.

Halloween is sometimes called “Christmas for the gays” lol so it’s not surprising she took a Christmas song and made it spooky! I love her vocals on this album so happy u pointed them out

    Nice impression!!!
I'm 63, so music from the 70s is my favourite, as I grew up with it. Some Halloween-appropriate albums from the 70s (or thereabouts) might be:
    - Black Sabbath: Black Sabbath (debut album)
    - Alice Cooper: Billion Dollar Babies
    - Tangerine Dream: Stratosfear
    - David Bowie: Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)
    - Warren Zevon: Excitable Boy
    - Mike Oldfield: Tubular Bells
    - PIL: The Flowers of Romance
    - Hawkwind: Warrior on the Edge of Time
    - Graham Bond: Holy Magick
    - Pink Floyd: Ummagumma
    - Roxy Music: For Your Pleasure
    - Herbie Mann: Gagaku & Beyond
    - Talking Heads: Fear of Music
    - The Moody Blues: On the Threshold of a Dream
    - Kate Bush: The Dreaming
    - Depeche Mode: Black Celebration
    - Dead Can Dance: Aion (released in 1990 ... close enough for rock 'n' roll)

‘In The Next Life’ is one of my absolute favorite Pop records in recent times. SUCH a fucking great song!! From the verses to the chorus, the bridge, etc... flawless!

Party Till I Die wasn't really meant to be a closer. The album was released in two parts. A third and final part is coming next year. It was supposed to come out last year but, y'know, Covid. As a sort of compensation she has released PTID but more is coming next October.

It's been said in this comment section before but yeah, Everybody Dies was the original closer of the album and Party Till I Die was added a year later mostly as sort of an homage to the album and I guess to introduce her current sound to people who've only listened to TURN OFF THE LIGHT (though she doesn't really do that sound anymore either and her music is in a bit of a limbo thanks to record label politics). But even further than that, this is the second version of the album (or I guess third if you count the addition of Party Till I Die), the original album had only 8 songs and the closer was Boo Bitch!, Everybody Dies hadn't been constructed at that time.

I think, personally, that since she's Trans, the song transylvania is a play on the idea that in transylvania, humans change into things inhuman all the time. The song itself transforms multiple times throughout.

  • @rosediamond4132
    @rosediamond4132 Před rokem

If you notice, many titles are movie references. Omens, Bloody Valentine, Wrong Turn, There Will Be Blood and Tell Me it's a Nightmare are all movie titles
Edit: the Christmas song "Carol of the Bells" was taken from a song warning you about Krampus, and had very horror vibes to it.
Edit 2: In TRANSylvania, I believe the gamer type sounds are a reference to Castlevania and Turn off the Light samples Thriller if you listen closely
