This is just cases of parasocial relationships where fans think they know or have a say over their idols life

I saw a girl make a full-on rant about it, on TikTok! She makes a pretty good point. She called out fans for doing so...

I'll say it again, kpop idols are manufactured to please fans rather than their artistry

This might be part of a general mentality towards fanservice in Asia (I say this as an Asian person myself). I remember back in the 80s, when Jackie Chan announced his marriage to his girlfriend, two of his fans ended their lives. A member of Japan's AKB48 shaved her head and issued an apology ten years ago when she was caught dating someone, and there's currently a girl-next-door-type anchorwoman, not entertainer, whose fans demanded that she be fired from NHK when it turned out she was seeing someone. The anime Perfect Blue does a good job of covering this sort of parasocial relationship, but I've always wondered if any of it has something to do with the marketing of entertainers as "idols" in Asia.

i didnt know this! that is fucking insane! yeah it can be dangerous marketing regular human beings as people that exist for you. the parasocial relationships are really scary

14:50 I definitely think what may seem like a petty and exaggerated response from the Korean general public, stems from a cultural perspective that we could never understand. The bullying in Korea is straight up teenagers assaulting, torturing and near murdering their peers (and getting away almost scot-free cause their system sucks). I used to wonder why the bullying scandals were taken so seriously, as I believe anyone can change but looking at it through their perspective and after hearing a few stories like the one from “The Glory”, it makes since why the Korean fans care so much about the bullying scandals.
Now in my honest opinion I believe everyone deserves forgiveness as I am a Christian and it is, of course a main belief of Christ. Everyone deserves to be forgiven, so if an idol really has bullied others I do think we should forgive them and like you said, people change! 🫶🏽
    Great video btw!

HYBE, BIG HIT and BTS fans known as Army are hell bent to ruin BTS member KIM TAEHYUNG musical career as they see him as potential threat against their beloved JEON JUNGKOOK. They are already sabotaging V's digital single FRI(END)S.

No the problem is the bands themselves if a member is being cancelled for dating or other silly reasons they all should back him up and say if he goes we go.The problem is they are all so fame hungry they will sell their souls to get there and have their lives run like they are school boys with the reduculas rules they follow.

    • @IndigoDetry
      @IndigoDetry  Před 5 měsíci +5

you are definitely over exaggerating lmao. its not all that black and white. but sure call them fame hungry even though you’ve never met them in your life

Its an unreal lifestyle for the KPop Stars/IDOLS
Its like theyre in a boarding school for life education, to become an "IDOL"....
They dont get to experience "normal teen life"....
hang out with mates, skip school, go to the movies, go to the beach, have the freedom to just be a kid...
fall in love, break up, get glandular fever, high school dance, graduate..
So, the training they have to become a star is so structured, and they work so hard.
All of their physical needs are catered for, but emotionally these lads become so close to each other, very trusting of each others emotional being...
They are the only ones, within their group that can support each other
As an example BTS, who are now globally famous, have also been given such a revoltingly hard time...
and the way some of their fans (whether its army or not, i dont know) rip eveything apart, scrutinise every look, gesture, movement...
and then come up with stories....
    some stories are just ridiculous
So far, every KPop band ive watched are very touchy feely toward each other....
    closer than brothers...
but the comments become very skewed...
Instead of insinuation, can we not accept that they live, work, breathe life together for years....
We dont own them, and they dont owe us.....
    Its their job...
And while they do interact with fans its part of the job as well....
Fans have no "right" to interfere with their "personal life"...
    Their job is to entertain
Our job, is to purchase the music or not...
Not to interfere with their personal lives, if they ever get time to have one...
    Rant over lol....

I hate fan service so much. They are touchy-feely with each other because the "fans want that"... this is sad... A lot of idols struggle with their mental health because of those crazy people thinking that they are entitled in any shape or form to their idols' lives!

What im finding truly bizzare, is the way fans make up stories bacause of a "look" the idols give each other...
"oh, a is jealous of b, and c is going to pay for that later... "
Especially if one fan has a crush on A...they find every video/pic that idol has, and they mash everything to create a story...while another fan might like B and they do something similar.
Im astounded as to how much time goes into creating idol narratives, especially when snippets of videos, without the contexts of what band members were actually doing, becomes distorted...
The idols arent 13 anymore...most of them are now in their 20,s and 30,s...Grown Men...
And these grown men dont seem to be able to go out for a meal, go to a movie, visit a mall....thats the price of their fame...but its a big price....they have no privacy to do "simple things"
Part of their fame, is because they have shared so much of their journey...
      but we dont own them...
Blessings to all the idols tho, they are hard working Entertainers who do give so much pleasure to the fans
      🙏
