      Over a million people dead in the US alone and that’s with social distancing and vaccines.
      You can’t deny reality just because it makes you uncomfortable. I understand the desire to want to pretend it wasn’t a big deal, but when you take care of a young man in a hospital bed who can no longer breathe because his lungs are destroyed by Covid, and every day he begs you to kill him while a machine keeps him alive..: well it’s hard to deny that sort of reality.
      And the effects that long Covid will have on people will take years to understand.

    Having a sense of community, being around people who make you laugh, playing and having a purpose all likely trump dietary changes. I am a huge proponent of getting training, diet and sleep in check, but if you do not have people and experiences around you that lift you up and cause you to enjoy life, then you are fighting a losing battle.

    I notice adrenal fatigue once I start having insomnia and depression. Every workout I do at the gym is a HIIT workout, and I have always struggled to gauge how intensely I should be pushing myself without completely fucking my body up to the point that I feel sick. Eventually my sleep quality deteriorates, I keep training hard, and then the final straw is when I experience outright zero-seconds-of-sleep level insomnia and become depressed. Didn’t get a blink of sleep last night because I just love the damn dopamine rush of going hard in the gym. Will be taking a week off to relax, read, meditate, and focus on getting to bed as early as possible. This has always worked in resolving my adrenal fatigue issues. Personally, I like to do a short 24-hour fast during breaks like these, usually on the 3rd or 4th day of no exercise. I find that it puts me into a deeper state of relaxation and allows my digestive system to rest for the day.

    I don't know if it was adrenal fatigue since I performed no tests to verify it but a while back I suffered very similar symptoms. The most debilitating of which were having difficulty sleeping, and also I felt like I just was unable to sleep enough to regenerate and so I felt like crap throughout the day. And yes I tried doing less throughout the day and sleeping more but it just was not enough. The real solution proved to be a life lesson I won't soon forget: cutting on your training not only will not kill your gains but in fact may be extremally beneficial. Skipping a max effort part of a workout, or even an entire training session when you feel beat up af can really make the difference and ultimately bring you closer to your goals than forcibly pushing yourself. The time when I felt a true difference was after I skipped almost an entire planned week of heavy training, then came to the gym on Friday, did some heavy work and followed that up by a gym-free weekend.

    What works for me is first of all: a good sleeping regiment with as early as possible going to bed, adding some naps throughout the day( more as a stress reliever really, you cant be stressed while you sleep lol), reduced fasted states(breakfast is mandatory), reduced amount of carbonated drinks and caffeine!!!!
    The one factor I havn't work about is smoking and I don't remember what exactly they told us at med school but smoking in general stimulates the sympathic system, hence the adrenal glands are working harder. Deffinetly if possible quit smoking!!

    Tip from me: tone down every physical activity to feel smooth with no strain, no grinding, until you've recovered. Let this dictate intensity and volume. You may need to do this for a few months. As for non physical, notice every situation that makes your heart race, your brain race or your breathing shallow. Try to eliminate these situations, but when you can't, learn to breathe through them and trust everything is fine and will work out. Slow yourself down. That's not easy, but meditation and mindfulness practice will massively help. Just increase awareness of everything, especially body and emotions.

      I got adrenal fatigue during a gruelling contest prep and my (tren)insomnia never went away again to this day, and I agree that it is key to recovery, but what can you do? all the natural sleep supplements don't help, all the effective sleeping meds cause addiction. trying to have a relaxing day life seems impossible when you're exhausted to the point where everything stresses you out, which fucks up your job, your diet, your workouts... it's a vicious cycle, and the only solution I can think of is a long and lonely vacation, but not everyone has the means to do that.

    • @bettertraining3491

      I'm in that boat with you guys. Therapy might be necessary. Constant stress is basically anxiety- cortisol and epinephrine constantly elevated. Fight or flight. Sleeping pills do jack shit for me and I've tried a ton of them. Things that work a little bit for me are: lowering the intensity of exercise, exercising earlier in the day, only infrequent lower doses of alcohol or THC- the more you use these the less helpful they become and then they actually start adding to your problem. Meditation. watching only comedy before bed, listening to mellow jazz, classical or chillax/electronica. Hugs, seriously. Getting things finished on time and early. Magnesium, theanine, 5-HTP, holding a pet, going for a relaxed-pace walk. :)

    • @simplydusty330
      @simplydusty330 Před 6 lety +2

      great input from all of you. I hope we all recover someday. And if you think about it, constant stress is what got us here in the first place, so maybe constant relaxation is what will take us out of it.
      Also someone wrote this is response to one of my comments and i know its probably one of the best ways for recovery but you have to be consistent with it day in and out.
      -"And no you should never take any antidepressants or antianxiety drugs.. You need to fix the cause not the symptomes. Otherwise you will never get well.. No stimulants, no drugs, alcohol.. A lot of good calories(for man at least 3000kcal NO LOW CARB) Every day in 10 PM in bed. Dark, cold room and 8 hours of good sleep is minimum.."

    I was just diagnosed with adrenal fatigue a little over a month ago. It was diagnosed through a 4 point cortisol saliva test. My cortisol pattern from 8am-4pm is in the right pattern but still low. And actually is it’s highest at midnight. So it’s all over the place. So far my treatment medication wise has been 500mg rhodiola in the mornings to help raise my cortisol. Even though it is higher then at 4pm it’s still lower then what it optimally should be, and 30mg of pregnenolone at night, along with 200mg of Phosphatidylserine to help lower my cortisol. And I can tell you that sleeping at least for me is a HUGE issue with adrenal fatigue. My body feel likes or stuck on the flight or fight response, I can feel my heart beat and a constant feeling of adrenaline/anxiety.

I had severe Adrenal fatigue amoung other things, but the one thing that made the biggest impact and what gave me my life back was a vitc/mag/vit B complex IV drip, the change is noticeable within hours. I was horrifically ill for two years (struggled to walk) before I had my first drip and then the real turnaround started. Then secondly consuming buttermilk, which has probiotics and easily digestible protein and fats then drank alot of cocoa (high in magnesium) with added coconut oil instead of coffee. It is relaxing more than energizing, better for night time. I had a favorite time release vitamin C that didn't throw my stomach off that I forgot about. Thanks for the reminder. I might be a fan of C8 MCT, but I only like it with a drop or two of citrus oil, orange or lemon to disperse it. That seems to take away the nausea it can cause and offer somewhat of a stable energy. Weight creeps up if I rely on that one too much it seems.

    What i would also add to this is that chronic stress causes inflammation in the body and builds up oxidative stress. Also low levels of cortisol due to adrenal fatigue will prevent the body (kidneys and liver) from getting rid of toxins so toxins will also build up in your body. For some people a detox ( !! under the supervision of a professional !! ) could really be a good thing!

    • @OGAesthetics

      I took same route a year ago due to heavy caffeine consumption. I was consuming 300 mg preworkout along with other simulant heavy ingredients as well as a couple of cups of coffee everyday.
      The first week was worst, particularly in morning and not having hype before a workout. What I noticed was my #s and %s were still same and it helped me better manage ups and downs of energy. Along with that my sleep was much better and I felt more "focused" during my workout. It allowed me to train hard but know my limits and not fry my nervous system and muscles the way I would if I had the buzz from preworkout.

      Went crazy with caffeine for a few months - had it literally all day long, and finally got to the point where I was always tired, woke up tired every morning. Finally gave up caffeine, and after about a week I woke up without an alarm clock for the first time in months and felt great. It’s not worth it to stress out your body. Give it up, and you’ll eventually rebound and be better than ever.

    Caffeine is so hard on your body, and we don’t even realize it. Had it all day long for a few months and got to the point where I was always exhausted and could barely get up in the morning. Went through the painful process of giving up caffeine, and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. After about a week to 10 days I felt great again. Never going back to regular caffeine.

    There’s a lot of quackery and pseudo science in this area and navigating it can be tricky since there is no simple test and no one simple cause but ultimately you need to reduce stress from any cause and increase recovery. That likely means stopping or massively reducing training, looking at how you can reduce other life stresses and looking if you can help support your body through basic wholesome nutrition and cutting out stimulants in particular. I’m still in the journey to recovery myself.

      I can relate to this right now. I have been having heart palpitations and felt light headed or faint. Running 10 km after lifting weights with the hot summer heat coming. Loads of coffee in the morning with semi intermittent fasting on the go (low carbs with a little oatmeal in the morning). This overtraining with under eating I assume? Just about anybody would feel exhausted?

As well as how do you take the aminos and recovery do you take it with water or gatorade?

      On the 29 May 2018 my GP sent me for blood tests my platelet is between 140 - 450, mine was Low 138 so now she sent me for another test in three months, though I had a routine visit with my oncologist on 15 of June 2018 and did blood tests the platelets were 153. In March this year I got stuck with lower back spasms while vacuuming, after recuperating started doing gentle exercises and tried doing squats to strengthen my quads, became stuck again this made me become very stressed because I relate to my being bedridden while recuperating from my initial problem. I began waking up between 3 am and 6 am regularly shaking. I thought it was hunger though, I wasn’t hungry. Apparently it’s called the dawn syndrome. It has now disappeared, but during the day I still feel shaky and anxious. Always have to eat some type meat or will remain shaking. I drink the juice of 1/2 a lemon in 8 oz of water with a 1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt in AM before breakfast. I don’t know what else to do. Thanks 🌺

  • @jirihutecka9020
    @jirihutecka9020 Před 6 lety +4

    In the beginning of adrenal fatigue. When you run on stress hormones you will have high stress hormones, high aldosterone= sodium retention=water retention=high blood pressure. Then if you will continue in this stress state. Your bodys ability to produce stress hormones will be reduced due to micronutrient depletion(magnesium, vitC, zinc etc..) So your stress hormones, aldosterone will be low. So you will be like a zombie. Hard time to retein sodium due to low aldosterone. So dehydration, low blood pressure. In this state you need to basically shut down everything. Eat a lot of good food and sleep as much as you can. It can take 6-12 months to recover from this and many people even after this recovery period are never the same.

      Then you must be still under some type of stress. So your body can't recover or you can have also heavy metal poisoning, mold in the house etc.. There are many possibilities..

    • @simplydusty330
      @simplydusty330 Před 6 lety

      what gets rid of metal poisoning? and mold? and yes i would say im still under a bit of stress. Do you think i should get anti-depressants or Anti-anxiety pills?

    • @jirihutecka9020
      @jirihutecka9020 Před 6 lety

      IF you want to know if you have heavy metal poisoning or overload. You should have done hair tissue mineral analysis.. You also should have wide range of blood tests if you are not deficient in some micronutrients like B12/D3 etc.. You can have also iron overload or copper toxicity.. ALl this will show up on hair tests as well.. Mold is typically in wood houses in bad shape between walls etc.. Especially in hot and humid climate.. And no you should never take any antidepressants or antianxiety drugs.. You need to fix the cause not the symptomes. Otherwise you will never get well.. No stimulants, no drugs, alcohol.. A lot of good calories(for man at least 3000kcal NO LOW CARB) Every day in 10 PM in bed. Dark, cold room and 8 hours of good sleep is minimum..

      How many Stimulants do you take? Your body is different from everyone else's, so it doesn't do any good to compare your situation to others because you don't really know what else they are doing.
