Billy is only allowed to play Spy Hunter with the frame rate of awesome possum, the music of cybernoid, and the controls of Bill and Ted. Instead of weapons the truck drops a new level of 8 eyes. At the continue screen is the bird.
I grew up with 8 eyes, I actually got all the retro achievements for this one.
the biggest problem with 8 Eyes is the controls are horribly mapped.
you have to hold up and the jump button for using items
up and the attack button to send the bird flying or calling him back
down and the attack button for the bird to attack (which is in a downward diagonal attack).
I feel the game would have benefitted from going onto a system who's controllers have more buttons

If I remember right, I think you mentioned Jaws on NES being one of those games you like to pull out every once in awhile. I rented it when I was a kid, but I couldn't really figure out what I was supposed to do. You (I'm pretty sure it was you) inspired me to give it another chance and I actually found it pretty fun and relaxing to play! All the way up until I had to stab the shark with the boat... I rage quit after about 10 attempts. lol

I can tell you Billy from my own research that spy hunter has no ending it is simply a game to keep going until you get the highest score possible and die

Ninja Gaiden made me rage quit many times great game but hard as hell especially the 6-2 segment where they throw everything at you.
Watch Arcus play it. He has the speedrun world record. It's crazy watching him. He doesn't slow down at all. Just constantly running.
You actually turn into a boat later on in the game of Spy Hunter & no it doesn't end
For me it’s Abodox. I had to eventually turn on an invincibility cheat. Playing through the game like that and seeing all the bullshit it throws at you just pissed me off even more! Lol

for me its battletoads but not the turbo tunnel, its the damn snow level and then the bomb level my god...
always ends the same way, with the sexy babe and her big ol'....game over screen

i remember several of these, 8 eyes and the side scrolling shooter, both are way too hard lol

My personal rage quit game from the 8bit era is Hylide. Dont get it, dont like it, refuse to learn it!
I had Cybernoid!!! That game was first to be traded lolol. That sound unlocked some memories for me. Good ones of me muting the tv lolol.

For me it's Super Mario Bros 2 the Lost Levels, it's basically a $50 romhack of the original Super Mario Bros. that Nintendo admitted was to frustrating for American players.

I still have the nes cart for bill and ted’s. For some reason I felt compelled to download it for the switch. I’m not proud of that.
The last game I threw across the room was Castlevania on the Nintendo 64. After I wasted 20 minutes on that game, I gave up and never went back to it. And what really hurt is I paid full price for it from KayBee toys.

Dude I had Cybernoid back in the day. I always wanted to like it, I thought it looked cool, but yeah the sound effects were nauseating and it was just too damn hard.

When I was a kid I didn't realize that games could be bad, I just thought I was terrible at them. This is why I actually enjoyed Bill & Ted and 8 Eyes. Both of those games could use some heavy modifications so that we could enjoy them now.

Had 8 eyes as a kid. I remember my aunt took me to toys r us and I could pick out whatever game under $25. So I narrowed it down to this or Castlevania 2 and I had rented C2 but couldn’t get far so I was like let’s try this similar looking game. Boy did I make the wrong choice. If you know the level order and where to find items and use sub weapons it’s not that bad.
I remember saving up my money as a kid to buy Back to the Future on NES when it first came out. Made me quit gaming for a few years until I finally got Link to the Past and a SNES.
