I've got a video coming out soon where I play guitars in E standard, D standard, C standard and Bb standard through this pedal, I think you're going to dig it. I also was able to get it working better with my Mesa.
Into the high gain channel, when you do the second video, sweeping emphasis with mid maxed and changing the Q peak will dial it to be able to do the stacked saw thing with massive clarity. Versatility and the ability to sculpt something entirely new was the goal here however, not just that function so seeing and hearing what YOU got out of it was cool to see. Everyone with one is stoked on it and what it does so thats all that matters!
I'd say overall you did a very good job I think it's really hard to EQ to all different formats connoisseurs that listen to it correctly are going to have subwoofers and you know beautiful sound a little bit of harmonic distortion on the mids and highs and kind of cutting off the base just works so nice for people that are listening to it with a subwoofer
There are quite a few bands who also used the hm2 in a non-chainsaw context (my taste)- shoegaze like M.B.V, Euronymous era Mayhem (boosted with sd-1), Darkthrone up to at least Transylvanian Hunger and the band the got me using one to start with, Godflesh. Just to add to the HM2 history list.
@@DrewCreal It makes a great black metal tone too, just the reverse of the meme settings.Lo on 1 and H no higher than 3, Theres an aussie guy on YT who did a few tone match vids with the norsecore bands
@@radshoesbro the classic godflesh setting is the eq facing each other-so bass on 7.5 and hi on 2.5. Same for the bass too,obvs diff with amp setting between jcm800and svt.
I was hoping for non-hm2 tones. After all it, isnt an hm2....with all that eq on board you should easily be able to dial a morrisound tone? Maybe a standard 6 string next time rather than the 8? The low string is so farty!
Hes doing a second clip, dont worry. This was the tip of the iceberg. And, for reference , the morrisound "tones" are what I made the Corpse Grinder for. This is more focused on the wide tweakable midrange aspect, but can do a lot more. Not everything needs to be capable of everything however, Nor does it need to cater to peoples base desires. Theres plenty of less feature loaded offerings out there for that market. In terms of the Trendkiller however, It clearly sounds good and does what it needs to do for what I want out of it. Which the most important thing, not what others want, but what I want it to do. If people dig it, cool. If they dont, thats fine also. As I said, plenty of lesser more minimalist offerings out there not doing anything new or unique for that market. I dont need to concern myself with their views or desire of pedals and effects.....theyre stuck in boring tradition and the typical crutch 3/ 4 knob offerings. The next video Drew does, I to, would like to see done in C standard on a humbucker and trem equipped 6 string as I personally dont like the boom out the 8 string has either. I play 6 string in C and A myself, and it sounds a lot more refined with less strings.

I want people to find their sound who do videos, without $ guiding their demos, and then I give an honest view of their demo, and then I give everyone else what I personally do using it. I dont pay people for videos, never will. I view it as shill activities, and Drew respects that. I dont view any demo channel as worthy of being paid to demo anything, in $ or gear for free. It keeps everything honest and zero smoke and mirrors, which plagues this industry entirely. I wish more brands took the stance I do on this, there would be a lot less fictional celebrities out there.

What you can do with these petals live just does not translate to a CZcams video in the mix you can even do things with these but just that sounded horrible man hahaha
all these "botique" hm-2's are definitely interesting, but honestly I just dont think you can improve on the original, boss got it right with the waza craft pedal keeping it simple, it seems its way too easy to create bad sounds with all those extra knobs

Tightness and definition is the main goal of the majority of all of us death metal guys (most metal at that). Maybe for doom or drone stuff his stuff could be cool. But don’t expect to get licthlaerm quality or any modern high gain tones like a maxon or any of the other industry standards get you.

Your recording technique is superb but your whole sound is in the wrong range of the EQ you need to chop off the bottom and hit them up mids and highs
