    Thank you for an honest and unbiased appraisal, which I knew from past experience is exactly what you would provide. I for one am extremely grateful for the work you do to produce these videos and it is perfectly obvious to me that I can trust and rely on your findings. From my personal experience of five different camera brands and many digital lenses and cameras since 2009, I have to say that Canon has never let me down and my only regret is that it cost me thousands of pounds before I finally settled on them. I did so because I find their photography products, at least at enthusiast full-frame level, to be dependable. The same, alas, can't be said of Fujifilm to the same extent, although I do generally enjoy the results they provide. I currently own two Fuji cameras and five lenses, but there is no way on earth I'd use them exclusively if my livelihood depended on it. Keep up the good work!

      Thanks for this, Michael! It means a lot to me. I think that the XH2 is the first Fuji that can make me switch completely, but as you say, it's hard to do so when the Canon is so good. I just wish those lenses were not so expensive! Hopefully they will allow Sigma to make R mount lenses at some point soon.

    I had the same gripe with the focus changing/click to return to center on my xt5 coming from xt4. I have used it so much now tho for shoots I have totally forgot it was a thing and am able to switch fast/push nub right, scroll wheel to change and click nub again to center it. It would be a nice change for them to update so as to not have to recenter after changing :)
    Love the choice of silver! I have the black but the silver is so timeless ;)
    I use to shoot Canon but after my xt4 I can’t go back! The images in my opinion are always more pleasing. Yes my canon seemed to be sharper but the Fuji pics 🤤
    I haven’t tried it yet but x raw studio where you have to hook your Fuji camera up and it processes the raw image in camera might be something to checkout. I have a feeling the pictures will be extra pleasing 😊

      Hey Alex, on this video I did use C1 for the comparison. When I compared the XH2 to R5, I was using LR, which does indeed make a big difference, as you mention. The sharpness is excellent and I am absolutely thrilled with the XT5.

    With regards to Lightroom processing the Fuji files, did you allow adobe to just assign its profile or did you assign a camera matching profile from with in the profile manager as it makes a big difference to the colour tonality in import. Adobe has done a great job with these profiles for Fuji, not so good with Sony though 😢

    • @PeteCocoPhoto
      @PeteCocoPhoto  Před rokem +1

      Hey Karl, I only used LR at the time because C1 couldn't read the files at all. I typically never use LR so it was set to the default profile which I would guess is Adobe. Good to know though, although I really prefer C1 for tethered shooting and then typically edit in Affinity Photo.

  • @karlbratby4349

    I’ve recently had an xh2s and XH2 on loan from Fuji and tested against my Sony A9ll and although didn’t do much testing with the eye af and c-af I was surprised how well the xh2s compared to the A9ll, AF sensitivity was actually better on the xh2s in low light being -7 ev compared to -3ev and it is also faster to the point of focus where the Sony does a extra step, still fast but xh2s was faster. Image quality between those two was also so so close both in studio and ambient. High iso noise was maybe 1/2 stop better on the Sony but Fuji retained more detail within the high iso noise. As for the XH2, the af was a tad slower, much prefer the hair trigger of the xh2s but the image quality for a 40mp apps-c was amazing. Paired with the new line of prime lenses and the XH2 and xh2s are stellar cameras. I’ve had a Fuji in the bag for almost 10 years alongside my pro gear but finally I could say the XH line are at a pro level… apart from that dam flippy screen. Hands down I would have one of each and do away with Sony if the xh2 and xh2s had a tilt screen. Xt5 although cute and fun does not handle as well, evf is last generation and it’s now been relegated to the mid tier line with its build. Well done Fuji though for the new glass and camera lineup, now give me a tilt screen option and I’m sold 😂

    • @PeteCocoPhoto

      Hey Karl, this is awesome to hear! I had a similar experience with the XH2s and XH2. My favorite of the bunch is the XH2s for sure because of the awesome AF, but yeah, I want the higher resolution. I use Canon for my pro work and also carry my Fuji in my bag as a backup and also use it for some of my work. I would much prefer a full Fuji kit because it's smaller and lighter and I love the form and function of it all, but like you I'm still on the fence. The R5 is tough to beat!

    Hi Pete, Thanks for very informative and helpful videos. I hate C1 and I’ve been using Fuji cameras since 2015 and LR has never produced a decent edit, so I changed to Canon R6 (I’m a pensioner now!) and even though i started with 5DM2 the 5DM3, hen changed to Fuji XT1. Hated the R6, then found out that Adobe hand made the “Enhanced” function with a process that suited Fuji, I did my tests, it blew me away, so immediately went back to Fuji with the XT5. I put all my “RAFD” files in lR CC, then run “Enhance” with only “Raw Details” checked, perfect, Im a happy bunny, at last!

Canon R lenses is very expensive unless if you are looking for cheap plastic 200-400eur but this is not the point to have body for 3000 eur and cheapest lenses.

    @JonathanAcinity Před rokem +4

    How about using some f/1.4 Fuji primes when you do the X-H2 test. Compare a Canon prime to it. Literally 99% of CZcamsrs that test the image quality and resolution of the new 40mp sensor do their very best to avoid using the new primes that were specifically made to resolve its resolution. Everyone will use a zoom (all of which are now ancient) or a old prime. I'm starting to believe that this is done on purpose and that CZcamsrs are being paid off under the table. I even almost trusted DPREVIEW tests with their "studio scene comparison tool". I was frustrated that the new 40mp sensor didn't seem to any better than the old 26mp sensor when closely examining the chart, so they had me pissed off at Fujifilm. I'm thinking they are scamming us with marketing. Then I read the fine print on DPREVIEW and realize that they are using the OLD 56mm f/1.2 prime!
    Every test on CZcams (and elsewhere) shows that the new 56mm f/1.2 WR lens is MUCH sharper that the old one! So all the people who we are trusting to give us the FACTS and honest reviews are literally avoiding giving Fujifilm a fair shot in their tests, and therefore having a lot of people change their minds from considering the new body. My goodness! There are probably 50 different people testing the new 40mp cameras from Fujifilm and yet NO ONE seems to be able to get ahold of a single f/1.4 prime or the new 56mm f/1.2 WR. This doesn't help us consumers in making a decision when the tests aren't sufficient.

    • @PeteCocoPhoto
      @PeteCocoPhoto  Před rokem +4

      Although I love a great conspiracy theory, the reality is much more simple. I can only speak for small channels like myself but I have no association with the major camera brands - and I use our own equipment or borrow it from friends. The reason I am using 2 older lenses is because that's what I own. Regarding the new 56mm, it's been out of stock from B&H for weeks, and it costs $1000 as you probably know. If I constantly purchased equipment to use for CZcams reviews I would go broke LOL.
      The accusations you are throwing around are very serious. Do you have any evidence for anything you have said here? I think it's very sad when CZcamsrs spend tons of time, energy, and their own money, to create content for their viewers to enjoy and learn something, and then people like you make summary statements trashing them all because you didn't get the exact camera review you wanted.
      If you've watched ANY of my videos, you will also know that I am a huge Fuji fan and love their stuff. If I'm trying to purposely trash them, I'm doing a piss poor job for sure.
      Here's what you should do. Go spend $2000 on an XH2, and then another $1000 on the 56mm, and then add on another 10K in lighting and camera equipment to record yourself and post your own review. This way you will find nothing to complain about when watching the hundreds of thousands of hours of free content made for you by people all of the world who do it just because they love photography. Seriously, dude.

    • @PeteCocoPhoto
      @PeteCocoPhoto  Před rokem +1

      Do you really think that Canon and Sony are sending me money so that I post reviews to make Fuji look bad? For my 500 views? I make these videos because I love Fujifilm, I love photography, and I enjoy it. It's not a career for me and I don't have any connection with Canon or Fuji or Sony. I can't speak for big channels, but believe me when I tell you that most of us out here making these vids do it using our own time, money, and resources. Do you think those two lovable Canadians from DP Review are being greased under the table to make Fuji look bad? It' so silly to me.

    • @JonathanAcinity
      @JonathanAcinity Před rokem +2

      @@PeteCocoPhoto So it is more about producing CONTENT rather than being accurate? In this video you are comparing the quality of the Fuji system against the Canon system. Any responsible reviewer would be sure to have a proper, fair test setup before turning on their cameras because ultimately your content can sway a potential buyer in a different direction.
      You don't say, "Hmmm, well I own a Fuji lens and a Canon lens. Let me hop on CZcams and create some content, 'COMPARING' these two cameras'." If you're going to COMPARE two cameras, then actually COMPARE them. What you are effectively doing here is comparing lenses more than anything, yet the title says you're comparing the cameras.
      And you're missing my point. I am a "POTENTIAL" buyer of the X-H2 system. Many others are also here because they are really looking around to see what it can do, and to ascertain the validity of the popular claim that "the Fujifilm 40mp sensor cannot truly resolve 40 megapixels."
      So when I came across your video I immediately clicked on it because I am trying to make a purchasing decision very soon. And yet again it is another CZcamsr just showing off their gear and trying to be seen while using their flashy gear, rather than being responsible and having genuine interest in providing accurate information.
      If I was going to review and compare two systems, I would make sure to leave no stone unturned in making that comparison. Based on the title, you are really comparing camera sensors to see which camera wins the portrait battle. So it would be wise to be sure that you are using the best lenses available for both systems so that the glass in not a factor in comparing the sensors. OR, better yet, get your hands on a lens adapter(s) that will allow you to use 1 single lens on both cameras to make it a true 1:1 sensor comparison.

    • @PeteCocoPhoto
      @PeteCocoPhoto  Před rokem +2

      @@JonathanAcinity First of all you need to calm down and stop throwing around wild assumptions and accusations. Second of all, did it ever occur to you that perhaps someone might buy and XH2 to use with their existing lenses and not have the budget for a new lens??? Using your logic anyone upgrading their camera is going to never use an existing lens. This is ridiculous.
      Dude, you seriously sound like a petulant child. You're complaining because random CZcamsrs are not providing exactly the content you want to watch for free. And when a video is not exactly what you want it to be, you throw around conspiracies and accuse everyone of having some nefarious motives.
      Like I said, since you know better than everyone, go buy the camera and lens yourself and make your own video. See how that goes. And remember that no one is forcing you to watch my channel or anyone else's so you can click away without trying to denigrate the reputation of a total stranger.
