If you have a suppressor on and you don't want to take it off. Put a straw in your suppressor then feed the feed patch worm cord through the straw so it won't bind on the internal suppressor baffles. Works like a charm.
I use a bit of waxed thread, the same type of thread used for leather sewing a single strand is strong enough to be used as a pull through though if you want it to hold some beeswax to maintain stiffness its best to braid some together so theres no need to use a straw as the threat is stiff enough to easily be fed down the muzzle and just leave a bit if bees wax in my cleaning kit which can also be used to waterproof both wood and metal for extended periods out in the field.
I have a hw97k aka an underleaver and the beeswax gives extra grip on the charging lever and protects it from rust just rub the wax onto the metal then rub with your finger to smooth it evenly onto the metal and can easily be removed with a light bit of heat and a rag if for whatever reason you need to take the wax off the metal
I made a cleaning bore snake for my 22 caliber out of a piece of Paracord and tied fishing line to the end of it for a cleaning patch works absolutely amazing!
I usually take a piece of fishing line. Push it through with a loop. Put cloth through loop and pill il through barrel.
Sounds like a working and super cheap solution. Thanks
@@perspectiveflip my cheap cleaning solution consists of pads of cotton rolled up to get some strength while I push it through with some PET filament. It works just perfectly fine and has endlessly supply for lifetime if you just eager to buy a kg of it lol 😂
1.5mm fine for 0.177 cal, more for bigger cal
That's exactly what I did lol
Good stuff. I am going to try the Napier pull through.
Just asked for this! Simple process great to get safe care instruction! Great vid AOA!
The Dewey rod makes me think of the old 22 cleaning kit I had with the "eye" tip for pulling the cleaning patches through the barrel.
great accuracy, great value, easy to rebuild many years later !
Thanks for the show and tell, informative.
Nice review on how to clean the barrels
2 things I do are clean PCPs upside down or remove barrel to reduce dripping cleaner or oil in the transfer port. Also dry fire after cleaning to blow out any excess. Btw, I was unaware you can decock a springer?
Yup, all my springers and gas piston airguns decock as well. Just make sure to hold on to the barrel tight. I hand my Hatsan gas piston break barrel fly up and pinch in between my thumb and index finger taking a chunk of meat with it. Had to put it on ice and get stitched back on.
Actually some cannot be decocked. It depends on the gun.
Very good information and understandable 👍
Good video, most guns you don't even need to fully cook.
Just Crack the barrel open Alitalia enough to gain access to the barrel
Ii you have an FX rifle, during the cleaning process one needs to be VERY careful when pulling through to clean the barrel, if you pull through there is the possibility that you can damage or rip out the BREACH seals, which are a bit fiddly to replace.
GREAT! EXCELLENT VIDEO! Yes sir, simple, yet, very informative.
THANK YOU. 😊
The lead also helps lubricate the barrel which is why the first shots after cleaning are lower FPS and the following should increase both accuracy and speed.
Great tip thanks
i watch a video about weighting pellets it made a big difference, i have umarex gauntlet 1 25 caliber it love jsb match heavy, i sorted them and it puts 8 in the same hole over and over after sorting no more fliers
That sounds like some pro level stuff. I heard of snipers placing their rounds in the sun to warm them up. I am the weakest link with my pcp 😂
@@TheGoodkilo you are not alone.
Like to see videos on choice of pellets ? What brand to choose? What weight is best ? Etc
Certainly can make a difference in accuracy‼️
Very informative video. Thanks
So I have a question. Btw, I'm new with air guns, that's why this question. But in the beginning you talk about the rod that has that protective material around that doesn't make any scratches, but then you insert it with the patch, it cleans it, you take off the dirty patch and the metal point it's uncovered. Now, when you pull the rod out, should I be concerned with that metal point to scratch the inner barrel? Thanks.
Guess what: lately I've become kinda lazy (hot weather or whatever) so I utterly neglected all of my (8 different models, 2 PCPs and 6 springers) when it comes to cleaning the barrel(s). I even haven't cleaned them after swapping them pellet models... Nothing really went worse - more or less, I'm where I was when acting otherwise, that is, quite accurate at the range as well as "out in the field" (pest control). On another note: for the "pull through" method, use the fishing line with the piece of the pellet attached to one end. Once it comes out of the other end of the barrel, make a noose in the middle of that fishing line/thread and use quality patches/cloths.
Thanks, My only comment is some guys advocate cleaning your Airgun upside down to avoid getting solvent in the transfer port. Is that a consideration?
solvents weaken and destroy seals. collect grit that eats away on gun and seal.
And where do you get these items cause I can’t find them on AOA ?🤔
Can you use shooter lube on a pcp air rifle
Great post Chris
I just use silicone standard cosmetic cotton some rope and it works well!
You mentioned not to use a petroleum based product to clean your barrel. Is CLP not good for barrel cleaning? Label states petroleum distillates.
It runs the risk of destroying any orings, including the breech seals. Best to use a cleaner degreaser. There is no carbon to break down.
Liked to see a before and after on the range see accuracy test. I have had my bsa scorpion for 20 years and never cleaned it. And i have saved every empty tin pellets. 7500 round through it
Appreciate the info brother..
I don't like the napier design i prefer a solid fixed handle it allows you to twist the cleaning patch as you bring it down the barrel.
You know what is way cheaper than all that? Trimmer string from a weedeater. All you gotta do it melt and smush a little part at the end so the patch stays on. For cleaning patches just get some cheap ones and cut them down. For solvent just get some citrus Goo Gone.
Someone is a comedian I see.
You wouldn't use Goo Gone, it has petroleum in it
@@prof.snopes6239 someone is uneducated I see. Yes you would use citrus Goo Gone. Go to the airgun forums and read up.
@@JoeZelensky got a bottle of it right on my shelf, first ingredient is petroleum.
Im not looking at trying to make it louder
@@prof.snopes6239 it will not make it louder. That is literally what everybody uses to clean an air rifle.
now that is good info. I use thin bank line from Dave Canterbury.
Love mine!!!
I bought a Daisy Advanti from the CMP, any suggestions on products for that style of air rifle
tanks for it
U did it wrong with napier system , it is designed for 177/4.5mm 1 patch , for 22/5.5mm 2 patches and for 6.35mm 3 patches so it fills bore more tightly , thats why patch was going to easy thru that daystate wolverine , read napier pull thru instructions .
What about brushes?
I have been told not to clean the barrel on air rifles since it affects the accuracy of. The less clean it is, the more accurate it is. Have you heard of this?
If your groups start opening up do a pull through.
Hello friend, please can you tell me WHERE to buy a Lothar Walther barrel (if it exists) for my cricket tactical 2 23.6" in the USA? Thank you.
Here in the UK we use a lot of airguns due to the difficult firearms laws, but I dont understand especially in Arizona why many people would bother with them, given the ease of acquiring a .22LR rifle and .22LR ammo ?
You can't shoot a .22LR anywhere you please though. My neighborhood doesn't allow firing guns but I can get away with an air rifle.
Is it ok to use a good quality mineral oil ??
Спасибо
Mantap 👍 👍 👍 mantap
If every 10 shots, the accuracy decreases and the barrel needs to be cleaned to recover, what is the situation and how should we handle it?Can you give me some guidance?thank you
Clean your pellets and lightly oil them if you choose to.silicone spray seems to be common.
I put a drop of oil in the hollow end of my pellet before firing and it made a big boom but seemed to operate ok. Only did it once and was wondering if that is a cheat to get more power or what?
it is called "dieseling" you can put vaseline or petrolium oil and will ignite for the pressure like an diesel engine, it will shoot like a 22 caliber but you can blow up your seals and loose acuracy,
heres a video: czcams.com/video/qDjHWkt18sE/video.html
@@johnnzetrockk9404 nice. 3in1 oil works pretty good too
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS--------------------- PULL YOUR CLEANING PATCH IN THE BARREL THE WAY THE PELLETS TRAVEL-----------NEVERY, NEVERY, BACK THROUGH FROM THE BARREL END
Buenas, yo tengo una duda?
Esta empresa o tienda realiza envíos a Mexico?
Nada mi Homre , adios😄
You should show one with a baffle? Like swarm magnum.
👍
Can I use wd40 for cleaning thanks
It is not advised. WD40 can harm some of the seals used in airguns. Go with a good non-petroleum based cleaner. We like our AOA cleaner/decreaser product or Gunzilla.
@@airgunsofarizona In Vietnam, people are prohibited from using all kinds of weapons, so it is difficult to buy specialized cleaners, thank you for sharing with me.
@@haonam9602 i think balistol is safe, i use balistol oil on all airguns and for the co2 cartridges i use balistol silicon oil.
you have no clue if your barrel is clean unless you use a borescope, just because the patch is white does not mean it's clean, the teslong borescope is cheap and I phone compatible and you can clearly see your cleaning routine, ask me how I know
You are absolutly right. Only using patches will not remove the lead. Im shooting an Impact M3 30 and 22 cal. with slugs. With the Teslong scope I saw still a lot of remaining lead the last half of the liner. Without a brush no way to get the lead out.
T hnx
I wouldn't cock a springer like that, just gotta break it without loading the spring
Keep separate pellets from possible skirt deformation like Styrofoam. RWS MASTERKUGELN
Pake carbon cliner aja master
Old tee shirt. Hopps. 3 in one oil .
easier said than done. I have 13 PCPs and I have been unable to pass anything thru their barrels to clean them. absolutely nothing.
What exactly is your problem tho? Why you can't able to pass anything?
This is treating shooters like morons. If you can’t work out how a pull through works, you shouldn’t be shooting my friend.
Too much product endorsement
Theres nothing else to clean besides the bore? Wow, thats too easy
Artsy fartsy. Use a fishing line. Cost nothing and doesn't scrape the barrel
Barrels are made of hardened steel, the itty bit of brass on a cleaning rod isn't going to scratch the barrel.
@@fermitupoupon1754 a fine accessory yes. But I'm talking about the cost of cleaning the barrel, not what it can take
Not everyone is prepared to pay for something that you don't need
@@citizenVader fair enough. I don't own break barrels though. So my cleaning rod does double duty as a clearing rod in case a pellet decides to be difficult.
@@fermitupoupon1754 i have a mauser from diana I use the same method for that gun too. But I agree, that a little brass can't hurt the barrel. I would use it if I had one. I guess it's just my way around the extra money. And it fits in your pocket. Besides.. most people who have a airgun are more likely to be fishing too.
