    After 20 years on the street and the wear and tear on my back, I said "I am done wearing a dedicated gun belt" when I retired..... Then after a couple years of instructing and working on a gun range, I realized that lacing all the gear you need through a trouser type belt every day was BS. I am back to wearing a gun belt when working, but now I can have cool guy colors instead of all black. Oh and it feels great to be able to drop it when not needed. great video man.

    Just a tip,I found adding self adhesive Velcro to the back of the plastic blade tech teklocks to interface with Velcro of inner belt for better stability. The row of mag pouches has limited contact and will bother you I think.

    Excellent information. I’m just a regular dude trying to get better with my firearms for self defense. I like the way you compare why some gear is better than another. I have an esstac belt I’m working on setting up. I want to get my gear setup for when a P&S trainer comes by my area.

    I love my Ares belt for duty use, but if you're running the ELS mounts take a look at Safariland's ELS Belt. Yes, the belt is a "gamers belt", but it works great for a training rig where you have different load-outs based on the class. I modified my belt with a Carbon Arms Belt Ratchet Kit. It helps with getting the belt on and snugs it up to the velcro underbelt. I placed the ratchet at 4 o clock behind my holster (right Handed) to give me as much real estate for mounting the ELS 35's. Give it a try, I hope it helps.

    • @Just-To-Subscribe
      @Just-To-Subscribe Před 6 lety +1

      Presscheck Consulting What is the difference? Because most of those pouches are marketed as being able to do both s far as I know.

    • @presscheckconsulting3449
      @presscheckconsulting3449  Před 6 lety

      dump pouches are more rigid and specifically designed to accept magazines that need to be stowed rapidly. SSE bags are lightweight, usually compressed and kept completely out of the way, but allow expansion to hold items recovered on the battlefield until they can be properly bagged, tagged, and prepped for extraction as evidence/intel. an SSE bag might hold a pistol or something temporarily until it can be transferred to a proper SSE bag. The downside of SSE bags is that they are normally not durable and with nor stiffness they are more likely to bounce, twist, and rattle around while running. They would be less than optimal for quick stowage of mags. I don't quick stow magazines during missions so I have no need for a dump pouch, only an SSE bag which is rarely used either. Most of the time studd on the deck stays on the deck until things are done and then they are picked up and proper stowed. If I need to retain a mag for some reason (movement in an urban area where I will not return) The mag is stowed in a cargo pocket until I can secure it elsewhere.
