2:35 I think the reason behind this is it's a "Petrified Oak Slab" which you can only get in Creative, also, it acts like a Stone Slab, so it only breaks with a Pickaxe.
Wasnt that an Alpha Slab as you could only break slabs with pickaxes when they were introduced.

You can get it in survival. But you have to have cheats. You can't get it in the creative menu.

2:34 it was a petrified oak slab. When slabs were first introduced into the game they could only be mined with a pickaxe. It was never taken out of the game, but I’m pretty sure it can only be acquired through commands.

Wisp, the oak wood slab that you broke with the Diamond Pickaxe was "Petrified Wood", which is a rare kind of wood that requires a pickaxe to break instead of an axe. :D
I actually call it an “alpha slab” it’s a slab in alpha that had the same code spas stone slabs. So that’s why you can break it with a pickaxe.

The slab you broke was whats called an "alpha slab" its from the alpha version of the game where its unflammable and is broken with a pick instead of an axe

Hey Wisp, if ur still wondering about the hard wood that you could only break with ur pickaxe, its becasue it wsa petrified wood. Petrified wood slabs are basically the same as normal slabs, except you have to break it with a pickaxe and not an axe. Its basically a stone slab that was reskinned. You can only get it with commands.
It existed before any slab it is the alpha slab

2:34 this is a "Petrified oak slab" AKA "Alpha slab" which can't be obtained anymore. They are made in early versions of minecraft where for some reason oak slabs used same block type as stone slabs so they act like stone even though they look like wood.
Wisp the reason that that oak slab can be only broken by the pickaxe is because in the very early days of Minecraft wood slabs were counted as an item made of stone nowadays those slabs are extremely rare and some old servers even still have them. They are called legacy slabs.

Btw wisp the reason you could break it the slab with a pick was cause there is a thing they added a while ago that if you have a piece of wood and log out when you go back online it will be sort of hardened a guess. It was quickly removed but the block still is available with commands

Why don't you put Fire Aspect on your axe plus Sharpness? They'll die quicker from the fire damage (unless they have Notches) and their armor will break quicker.
