Well, I believe he's only selling his selfishness here. Leave LGAs fund alone and stick to your own state allocation.

Governors control the local govt to manage power, with the new law implemented for LG, the state govt can control the LG to manipulate , hence some state government would always give reasons . In this scenario, any LG who void the process of bringing development to their LGA they would be responsible to answer for it. With this FG development, we know who to direct our challenges to….

Look at it this way, we all saying that the federal government in Nigeria is too powerful and wanted a situation where more power will be given to the state, but now, the federal government is still taking more power by paying the state local government directly and by so doing, federal government will control all the state local government. let say Buhari still in power, despite his numerous power before, he will still be controlling all local government in Enugu, imo, Eboyi,Delta,Lagos, Edo etc. You guys don't know what problem you are bringing to yourselves.

From what I understood from this new briefing, the FG has not really settled for business on how to improve the welfare of the citizens.
The infrastructural development of the country, oil sector, power, employment, labor and productivity, security, agriculture, economy, etc. are in total mess.
Governor Seyi Makinde is of the opinion that 'sharing' shouldn't be the priority of the FG. Rather than tackling the projects that will bring hope for the people.
The Oyo State Governor should be applauded for comment on the judgment of the Supreme Court. His colleagues were all clapping hands on the issue instead of telling the government the facts

He's correct. The judgement is inconsistent with the constitution which is the highest law in the land. section1,1 says the constitution is supreme & its provisions shall have binding force on all authorities(supreme court inclusive)& persons throughout the federal republic of Nigeria.
Section 162,6 says LGAs & state allocations shall(must) be paid into special account called state joint local govt account.
Again,LGAs aren't part of the federating units section 2,2 and therefore ought not to be entitled to collect money directly from the federation account. The judgement is a flagrant breach of relevant sections of the Constitution except the constitution is nolonger the grundnorm in the land.

In a federation, the states have local councils as the federal to the states, local councils are managed everywhere in the world by states government. The LG chairman must be elected with their counsellors but the governor gives allocation to LG as the needs be. Governor Makinde is you think you have been doing the right thing you should not have any problem with the Supreme Court judgement. Please stop misadvising your people, the Federal Government law supersedes that of the State Government. The Federal Government will step into the State Government affairs when it is in conflict with the Federal laws. The governor should know better. Also you cannot be telling the citizens that the Federal Government is not superior to the State Government and yet you depend on the resources from the Federal Government to run the state. The Governors forum have come to say they would abide by the Supreme court decision, why not wait till the modality of how the the court ruling will be implemented before tell the people that your state will do things their own way. The Federal Government has more constitutional power than the State and local governments. When the plan is rolled out, the Local Government do not need the inference of the State government and that is what autonomy means. Right now the governor is hatching the chicks before the eggs. You cannot design how the states is going to relate to the Local Government henceforth. It will not be the responsibility of the governors to call for local government elections but the responsibility of the local Government chairman with the supervision of INEC.
