This kid knows himself. Totally unconcerned with praise, probably equally unconcerned with insults. He turned red at not knowing James Taylor. The color in his face was the only tell at emotion or reaction. Kid is the definition of STOIC. I love to see it cause we need more of it.

I don’t think it’s shyness. He’s just super chill.
He didnt have the confidence, that he needed, but he wanted it, look at his sudden facial expression changes when he gets complimented. He definitely a heartbreak tone and story telling voice. I hope he is still singing today and has gotten the confidence he needed. ❤ He is really good.
the judges on American idol can piss off his personality is fucking insane I love it and he 100 percent has passion, he's like a new breed of people being themselves and not putting on an act for views

He is far from shy, it's the persona he chose to charm others. Mischievous is more like it. I feel he is the lazy type, he won't put on the efforts and forget the words during Hollywood week, and the judges will be mad at him.
@@pureffm Yeah, the problem with that is in the music business you need to tour and be outgoing. I remember a contestant a few years ago named Sam Woolf, not sure if spelled right. They kept telling him, more passion, more energy etc. Jennifer Lopez told him you need to go from small star to big star. His charm will help him though.

He demonstrates the difference between focus and emotivism. The judges drip with emotivism which gets old with it's superlatives. The young man is focussed on the song and the message of the lyrics. He lets the essence of the message generate response rather than his showmanship. Go kid go.

Aron Westberry, you have it all. You held your composure will. I love your laid back approach. Don't give it all leave enough to keep them wanting more. This is how you do an audition. You are top ten if not top 2.

Sometimes the soft spoken really have a gift and trying to get them excited doesn't fit your expectations but in the end they teach you to be more humble. Great voice and definitely deserves a chance .😎👍

I don’t think it’s shyness, I feel that he’s been through something recently maybe a heartbreak. I can just feel it just by his eye contact towards the judges, he’s fidgeting a bit, can’t really stand still, his hands in his pockets, his tone when he talks, the way he sang that song and his reaction at the end when they told him he’s going to Hollywood. He’s not afraid whether he makes it or not. He really needs a hug. My boy been through something painful because that’s the way I and most men behave when battling something. We just don’t say anything and keep quiet. Keep your head up King! Im rooting for you!

This was the most gangster audition I’ve ever seen. Not sure if they were more stunned by his performance or how little he cared for their Approval. Got the 3 ✅ and ✌🏻out. Probably went and dropped a deuce right after like a boss!

It's so nice to see someone not act like a fool when they hear "you going to Hollywood". He's sexy and have a good voice. Not everyone wants money & to be famous. Good for him. The judges should be ashame of themselves for looking down on his job working at a grocery store. The pandemic has shown us jobs like his are essential. They should be thanking him not looking down on him.
Wish this guy was an actual recording artist that had recorded this song. This performance is one of my favorite things to listen to.

His casual response when Luke Bryan brought up College...LOVED THAT.. He's not like how people tend to have this automatic response about college or occupation. Chill and Normal, But Special voice👌🏼❤️ like to see.
