Nice! Most people that cut firewood around here don’t like maple. We love it! It’s plentiful and it cuts and dries fast. Splits and stacks good too! Great wood to mix in to the recreational bundles we sell to make the hard woods go farther. Nice cuttin Chris!👍🏻👍🏻 GNI

Each of you take a log and without any gauge see which of you could judge/cut the closest to 16 inches the most. I think you are pretty good at judging 16 inches without any zip-tie. Just a thought for some good video and brotherly time. Great videos and loved the interview with your dad.

This Maple is nothing like the ones we see in our gardens.
What was the original purpose of establishing them?
I spent a lot of time on a farm in MN many years ago, some of the fields were surrounded by woodland .
A lot of it was oak and other deciduous species.
I always thought they were natives and the land was as it was when Christopher Columbus found the place.

Piles of logs rolling or letting loose is dangerous. My father had both his legs crushed by a pile. He was rolling logs out and bucking them to log lengths. Unknown to him because of the saw running, the logger he was working for skidded out more logs and pushed them against the back of the pile and the whole thing came rolling down from behind him. Crushing him. After 10s of surgeries and over 100 pins and screws he can shuffle walk again. You definitely go about it right from the side and never turn your back on the pile.

What are you going to do when you're only allowed to use an electric chainsaw due to globull warming? A quart of gasoline has about 8,300 watts of energy and you'd need about 6 panels per day given perfect summer conditions. Oh, that's if you have already charged your electric truck that cost $50k and takes a bazillion panels... Hopefully we all die before they "save" us.
