I just finished cutting my first pile that size to feed the outdoor boiler. I wish I watched this video before I started cutting. You are a lot more efficient than I am. I think it took me six months, two tanks at a time. Thanks for the tips!
To watch someone cut through a pile is only half the needed knowledge. Your voice over with your thoughts and explanations are worth their weight in man glitter.
👍 really want to see how your castor line went myself. Hoping to see where/who it goes too. (I miss nafa) fur harvester's just seems like it should have been the one to go
Nice! Most people that cut firewood around here don’t like maple. We love it! It’s plentiful and it cuts and dries fast. Splits and stacks good too! Great wood to mix in to the recreational bundles we sell to make the hard woods go farther. Nice cuttin Chris!👍🏻👍🏻 GNI
Good morning Chris!!😀😀 It's always nice to have someone pitching blocks for you. I always try to have someone help me so I can just continue to cut on one end of the pile while they clear the other. It definitely speeds up the process. That is a really nice pile of wood!! Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
Lotta great stuff here. Look forward to the next one. A lot of the self proclaimed Firewood Brokers are terrified of log loads and I can't figure out why.
Hello , when you have logs brought in on a truck you should have them pile them up to only 6 feet high it will give you more room for rounds and be safer to cut. You talk about customer service you’re the customer so you should get some service too.
We’ve had no snow from Feb and these last to weeks the sun was splitting the trees, Easter Sunday was lovely but last night it started to get very cold now here on Easter Mon we’re having snow blizzards here in Northern Ireland 😜
I finally broke down and bought a 572xp. That puppy is an absolute monster. First 3 tanks of fuel today, between errands and emergency calls. How many tanks for a full break in? I'm thinkin 8-10.
I have a suggestion for some good video between you and your brother Chris. I thing he is the one that you show a lot. Each of you take a log and without any gauge see which of you could judge/cut the closest to 16 inches the most. I think you are pretty good at judging 16 inches without any zip-tie. Just a thought for some good video and brotherly time. Great videos and loved the interview with your dad.
This Maple is nothing like the ones we see in our gardens. What was the original purpose of establishing them? I spent a lot of time on a farm in MN many years ago, some of the fields were surrounded by woodland . A lot of it was oak and other deciduous species. I always thought they were natives and the land was as it was when Christopher Columbus found the place.
I have no idea how you you get so much cut on a tank of fuel. Those xp saws must be really fuel efficient and bigger tanks than what my Echo CS-590 has.
I was thinking since you have to pick up the rounds anyway why couldn't you just chuck them in your trailer and dump them where you need them. Might be more flexible as far as organizing where you have wood. Might give you more options on how you organize it also. Just an opinion and we all know everybody has one. LOL
Piles of logs rolling or letting loose is dangerous. My father had both his legs crushed by a pile. He was rolling logs out and bucking them to log lengths. Unknown to him because of the saw running, the logger he was working for skidded out more logs and pushed them against the back of the pile and the whole thing came rolling down from behind him. Crushing him. After 10s of surgeries and over 100 pins and screws he can shuffle walk again. You definitely go about it right from the side and never turn your back on the pile.
Not sure if you'd find it a safer way to reduce your wall of ☠️, but I use a long webbing tow strap to move and untangle logs by hand. It puts me further back than using a peavy.
Hi from TX. Great job 👍 sir. What is that Log turning tool you have called? where can I buy one at a good price? I have some MONSTER LIVE OAK LOGS, I can't even turn them to cut them down to size. There so heavy.
You dont have a playlist for the music you use in your videos do you? I heard some music a couple times in your videos and I kind of liked it. I'd like to listen to it again, but I cant find it.
Like Buckin' Billy Ray says, learn how to use the tip. Is what you say in a different way when cutting into a log pile. Learned how to cut into a log pile from watching how both of you do that.
@@InTheWoodyard Oh my bad, I thought it was a recent one, a little foggy this morning from working on the channel late hours. Enjoy the weather its nice here too
I think you should hire a couple of those "foreign exchange students", you know, from way down south! They don't eat much, a 100lbs sack of pinto beans, and a case of those flat biscuits, will last a month or longer!!
I REMEMBER WE WERE PUTTING SIDING ON A HOUSE THERE WAS A GUY PUTTING A NEW CHAIN ON HIS SAW , TURNS OUT HE WAS GOING TO USE IT TO PUT UNDER GROND FENCING FOR HIS DOG WE LAUGHTED ARE BUTTS OFF. JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU SEEN IT ALL LOL.

@@InTheWoodyard omg chris, I'm sorry to hear that. I was meaning more that the weather has changed that fast. If that was mentioned I totally missed it. Sympathies to the whole family.
What are you going to do when you're only allowed to use an electric chainsaw due to globull warming? A quart of gasoline has about 8,300 watts of energy and you'd need about 6 panels per day given perfect summer conditions. Oh, that's if you have already charged your electric truck that cost $50k and takes a bazillion panels... Hopefully we all die before they "save" us.

Hello from Chicago! I'd love to see some of the beaver trapping, hope there are videos of that adventure.
Coming soon! I will have a couple of trapping videos.

Thanks Al, yes help is always a good thing to have for production.
Have a good one!
Good tips on cutting logs in a pile. To avoid kickback or startling the logs, I sneak up on them and cut’em. Enjoy as always!
That's a good idea! Thanks!
That did look like fun cutting on that pile. Perfect sized Maple logs! Good day Chris!
It was!
I know it's not ideal but the film of you at work through the snow is so good. I watched it twice!

Good point, but sometimes I have a small space to put them in and I okay the higher pile not the trucker, he wants to do 6'.

Hard or Rock or Red maple covers a lot of North America. I believe it accounts for something like 50% of all trees in north America.
I prefer to have an additional person moving the wood as I cut it. I get tangled up in the accumulating material.
Yup, helpers are nice to have!
Welcome back friend.

Yes, we have summer the week of the fourth of July.
We didn't have much snow in central Wisconsin this winter. But what did fall stuck around too long.
Not much snow in August
