But the highest dps in that raid was only 1,8k so they might have ran into troubles in the bossfight or their tank can't hold aggro or something. Numbers aren't everything, I once kited a boss the entire encounter to make sure none of our braindead raidmembers had to do anything, and a guy was comparing his damage to mine in that fight. Sure enough he went real quiet on the next boss where I could play normally again.

This is not typical for TBC, it's typical for WoW in general because they never fixed this game in any expansion whatsoever. TBC was the only time they even tried, night and day difference between classic and TBC, after that they've been refurbishing the surface pretending to care forever. As long as they pay/reward streamers and people are invested in the game and can't admit it's dogsh-t it will continue to work. It would take a whole lot of effort to fix the game and make it worthy of tournaments, and it would restrict you from releasing untested spells, items and talents in the future. If Blizzard ever released a patch where PvP is fixed then players won't be okay with going back to broken patches. It's much less effort to pretend to care about fixing it while continuing to not give a damn. Even when Microsoft takes over I don't have any expectations, this is not primarily a PvP game and considering the revenue WoW and Hearthstone generate I can barely consider these games more than a scam. Playerbase of so many millions and nobody ever seemed to be testing new patches. They've been allowing bugexploits because they can't bother fixing the simplest line-of-sight bugs.

We can't actually grasp the whole situation because we can't see his cooldowns. If the mage has no mana gems and no evocation this is actually nowhere as easy as it seems. I estimate he only has 2k mana, but there would be several ways to kill the warrior by staying out of range and taking it slow, for example slowing him using rank 1 frostbolt which you can cast much faster than the max rank spell, and if it gets reflected at least it doesn't cause any damage. A skilled mage usually wins at least 9 out of 10 duels against a warrior, so he might have been overconfident.

can you still fish for glaive IDs? We used to do that on Live TBC and Pservers so if you had a bunch of rogues put in some time you could guarantee glaives that way.
