- The Tomb of the Unknown solider of the Army Old Guard stayed marching during the biggest storm in years in D.C. Per Arlington National Cemetery, winds reached 60-85 mph in the region. and the U.S. "sentinel leans into it and continues marching." Honor! God bless America!

several years ago there was a hurricane MIGHTA been Sandy. The entire unit was given permission to abandon the Tomb & EVERY team member individually refused

No, that is a myth. There has never been an option to stand down. During Isabel and Sandy, option was to stand guard at the top of the stairs, by the Trophy Room (directly in front of the Unknowns). Everyone stayed on the plaza.

@@Emily.Miller No problem! Tomb Guard Society has been trying to shut down the laughable "facts" floating around the internet but they continue to grow. Including that the president personally ordered the Sentinels to leave during Sandy but they refused. 🤦
