The thing that always makes me laugh about the wedding scene is the priest saying "finally" and Clarisse looking at him like "excuse me?!" 😂😂 pretty sure the priest wasn't the only one who was saying "finally" either but everyone just didn't say it out loud 😂
I shipped them at a young age. Was so happy when they finally were able to make it official. They are the golden couple of Disney movies. Just something about older couples that get to me now as an adult. Everyone deserves a love like theirs!
Fun fact: If i'm not mistaken, this was Julie Andrews and Hector Elizondo's (Queen Clarisse and Joseph respectively) idea, because they actually liked eachother in real life, so they (and the crew) decided to add that storyline. Apparently, Joseph wasn't supposed to be that important, but this happened! I'm not sure how true this is but I have this clear image of reading this/watching a video about this somewhere. EDIT: I did my research and this is true. Quoted from the Wikipedia page: "Elizondo and Andrews campaigned for a romantic relationship between their characters, an idea that originated during a table reading in which the actors uttered "you're cute" to each other.[58] The actors improvised their dance sequence.[30] Elizondo credits this with evolving his character into more than simply "a guy who drove a limo".[58]"
I would love to see a movie about these two in the 2 years leading up to the first movie. I'm 90% sure their romance would have started before her husband died, because if you think about it, she was "never just his queen" and he would likely have spent years climbing the ranks to become head of security. Oh well, I always have fanfiction.
Love Julie Andrews Forever💫… A woman who can create chemistry with her co-star(also Christopher Plummer, James Garner, Dick Van Dyke and so on) on screen and stage✨…

Technically everyone who noticed their relationship would say, "finally"...
The archbishop saying "finally" pretty much echoes the audience and all of Genovia! I loved Clarisse and Joe.

And Gary Marshall was a wise enough director to let the old pros (one of whom was his long time friend) cook up and serve a subplot all on their own.
Honestly, those two do have chemistry.. I just love their relationship... 😞😵💫
Link, please?
Such an epic romance really. They never flaunted it and he spoke so eloquently. “Take our friendship to the next level”
