About Enkidu (Green-Haired Servant). Their class is Lancer and they are connected to Gilgamesh’s lore. In life, Gilgamesh was predicted to become a tyrant by the Gods, and thus they created Enkidu, the “Chains of Heavens” meant to battle Gilgamesh. Enkidu and Gilgamesh ended up becoming best friends. In fact, Enkidu was Gilgamesh’s “only friend”. Seeing each other against bring them nostalgia.
Since they once fought against each other and things ended in a draw, Gilgamesh sees Enkidu as their equal while it sees itself as a tool for Gilgamesh.
Their power to fire weapons is similar. Enkidu makes weapons out of the earth while Gilgamesh fires the we weapons in his vault.
In case you didn’t notice, both of their Noble Phantasms are called “Enuma Elish”.

Reason for letting the dog being the master is because Enkidu is too fking strong in this war.
The power of Servants depends on the master who summoning them, because that dog is a specially trained dog for Summon a servant (which that master planned to Summon Pharoahs at the first), so the dog's magical power is so strong that it ables to summon the best form of Enkidu. Based on this situation, they somehow need to let this kind of servant fit with someone who dun even know wtf they r having (If giving to the correct master, Enkidu can direct demolish the whole war)
Look for Gilgamesh, he is still strong as always, but at the first he got summoned by an unknown master which not really have good magic power (based on his tiny magic ball), it's already a bad start for Gil. But since his ego is too big, he didn't even realized or doesn't need to realized it (no matter how bad it is, as long Master still alive he still can fight others easily if he wants except Enkidu).
So actually, if Gil and Enkidu gonna have a long time war, Gil will end up losing in some way, maybe lack of magic power or smtg.

For those who dont know, The dog got Enkidu from Fate Babylonia. Enkidu was Giilamesh rival, teacher, best friend and possible love interest. He is the only person Gilamesh doesnt look down on and has power comparable or greater than him.
You confuse Enkidu with Kingu. Kingu is a different being that had Enkidu's memories forced in him.

@@kristel9625 You should have a look at the actual translations of the Epic of Gilgamesh you would be surprised ;) "you will embrace him as you would a wife" the words of Ninsun aka Gilgamesh mother to Gil. There was a lot of implications about them being lovers in the actual Epic (it was not really a taboo thing in the antiquity btw either we are talking about 3600~~BC)
You’re right on the money with Waver and Lord El Melloi being the same person! He took the name, title, and job of his professor (and master of Lancer) from Fate/Zero. He also appeared in a scene in the UBW Epilogue talking to Shirou.
The Ruler is another servant class that was shown in the Fate/Apocrypha anime and in FGO. They serve as mediators to make sure the Grail War doesn’t go completely nutso bananas, but they don’t appear in every war afaik.
And finally, the old man in the after credits is not a Ruler, but some super high ranking mage named Zelretch, who I only know from that one scene in Heaven’s Feel. Someone else can probably explain how and why he is there cuz I sure as hell don’t know myself.
Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg is the mage who unlocked the Second True Magic (Kaleidoscope/Zelretch). The limits of Kaleidoscope is unknown but it’s area of expertise is Parallel Worlds. From what we know he uses his magic to observe and travel to Parallel Worlds, he also made the Jeweled Sword blueprints from Heavens feel and the Kaleidosticks from Prisma Ilya.

He's a sorceror that can travel through different universes. He's one of the leaders of the Mages Association. He had a part on the creation of the Grail Wars. He fought against Type-Moon (one of the more powerful entities in the Nasuverse and the source of all vampires in the Nasuverse) and won.

he was a bad person, was being the key word here, in both the epic of gilgamesh and fate lore, gilgamesh was a straight up villain until his batlle with enkidu which finally made him chill out and be a good guy(kinda, eventually, it took a while). the FSN/zero version of gil is specifically the pre enkidu gil, though he still has knowledge of enkidu thanks to the grail. Babylonia and strange fake are post enkidu gil hence they are nicer and not straight up villains.
He never was. According to the data from the Fate series, his alignement is Chaotic good, which we may see as negative because his ego and his actions but even in his Zero appearance, he recognized and valued the goodness and virtue in other people, despite having the necessity to demean them for him to look higher than thou.

Her body has been heavily modified and she went from half homunculus to something even more artificial than an actual homunculus. Her lifespan was also pretty close to ending, she could've lived for only a couple more years... A few more depending on circunstances. Also, that version of Gil was corrupted by the contents of the holy grail; that being, he was afflicted with a curse of madness.

To explain why grail wars keep happening, the objective of the Holy Grail War in japan was to have someone complete the ritual as Faldeus describes and acquire the Third True Magic that the Einzbern family has lost. However, every single grail war has failed due to various people trying to game the system, and the war in Strange Fake is one of several “Subspecies Grail Wars” started by other people who heard about the Fuyuki grail wars and thought “damn i want me some of that holy grail.”
The whole point of the Grail War is to reach the Root, which is theoretically the source of everything. If you can tap into that, you can do/understand pretty much everything. That's the point of the ritual, and it's why mages flock to it constantly. They aren't cursed to repeat it so much as they're willing to participate in it, because they never learn their lesson

Long ass lore trivia and details list below. No spoilers just things to help clarify anybody here who’s confused or got questions
Just a few things to help with some understandable confusion(its been a minute and Fate/Nasuverse lore goes pretty deep)
- The War with Kiritsugu and Rider and Gilgamesh and Waver in Fate/Zero was the 4th Holy Grail War
- The war with Shirou and Archer and Rin and Gilgamesh again is the 5th Holy grail war a.k.a Fate/Stay Night and its 3 routes
- Strange Fake takes places after the 5th holy grail war, its just currently unknown what route it is a following afterwards
- The assassin here isn’t someone you’ve seen before but she is connected to them. Without an explicit specific artifact, whenever you summon a servant you’ll just kind of get a default/random one. For Assassin’s they have this white mask Assassin’s Creed type order that you’ve seen in Zero and Heaven’s Feel. Homegirl is apart of that order
- Waver did order a toy but since the toy is somewhat associated with the idea of Jack the Ripper it pretty much defaulted to the Berserker version with no identity
- Ruler class is literally just the Discord Mod for the HGW that comes in when shit don’t look right(see Apocrypha for more)
- Old boy at the end is not the Ruler. That is Zelretch(you’ve seen him in HF 3). Just know he’s an uber mega powerful mage, master of the 2nd magic
- The reason the Grail war keeps happening(in Japan at least) is just because the last 4 or 5 times, shit keeps getting fucked up so no one has ever ACTUALLY claimed it and the families just set it up for next person in the bloodline to do it
- Enkidu is Gilgamesh’s homeboy and basically they had a really cute Pixar/Disney type backstory together(see Babylonia for more on that as well)
- Enkidu doesn’t have a Gender. It/They are quite literally a weapon created by the Gods of Gilgamesh’s time to go and fuck Gilgamesh up because he was talkin too much “fuck the gods” shit. They just have taken the look and form of the girl they first met when they landed on Earth
- Gil named the chains in his treasury after Enkidu(he used them in UBW against Hercules in their fight). Enkidu’s weapon identity goes by the name of Enuma Eilish and it’s basically the weapon of the Earth in the form of spears and chains. Very VERY strong and the reason they fight the same is because Enkidu is where Gilgamesh got that fighting style from
- I could try and explain what’s going on with Jester(its not a spoiler just related to something different called Tsukihime) but all you need to know is….Vampire. Hes a vampire
- Gilgamesh dropped a whole Dune reference when he said there should be sandworms and mice about

Pretty great however the vampires in Fate are not the same as in tsukyhime the lore contradicts each other. They technically are and aren't the same. This isn't a spoiler because its not shown in any shows or books so you have to go delving into deep lore but in Tsukyhime Zelrech is a dead apostle while in Fate he is not.

To give Enkidu some credit and backstory, back when they were alive:
He fought Gilgamesh for several days, with a witness saying their battle “felt like the world was destroyed and created 7 times over”.
He is the sole reason why Gil shoots out his weapons from his Gate of Babylon. In order to keep up with Enkidu, he had to empty out his entire vault of treasures (both of them coming to a draw)
Enkidu has stated that as a servant, the power of Gilgamesh’s Ea, or Enuma Elish, wasn’t anywhere close to back when they were alive during the Age of Gods
Implying that Enkidu’s output for his Enuma Elish was magnitudes higher to match up with Gil’s
They are built different.
Enkidu was Gilgamesh's bestie and rival! That's why it's a worthy fight and Gil was so happy to accept.

the relationship between gilgamesh and enkidu is well explained in Fate Babilonya but basically they were best friends who were always fighting because they were extremely strong and had similar powers (I don't remember exactly but it was for enkidu to be a countermeasure against gilgamesh that was sent by the gods)

Edit: Also I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention this as of writing, but Enkidu is neither female nor male, but clay. This gave rise to a well-known saying in the community regarding Gil and Enkidu’s relationship: “It’s not gay if it’s clay.”

Enkidu was a divine golem that learnt to be human and became Gilgamesh’s best friend. They are the only person Gilgamesh thinks of as an equal. They homies.
I'd recommend you watch Lord El-Melloi's Case Files before the full anime comes out (Waver's post 4th war storyline) since that is the one spin-off that this series pulls A LOT out of. And Waver's class will have a lot of importance later on, so it's best if you have already been properly introduced to them through that series.

To help people understand.
The Holy Grail War in Fuyuki is basically a Canon Event or, rather, the Grail Wars, the necessity of mages to acquire the grail.
The UBW and HF time-line is not the same as this one, but the usual events of that timeline are a constant in other universes (like this one), but they're not the same.
For example, "/Zero" is not THE prequel of The "/stay night" timeline but rather another rendition of the 4th Grail War, according to the original creator is the closest there is to the /stay night timeline.

I should've seen this coming, but seeing this video in my feed still was a very pleasant surprise! Btw, about the Gilgamesh/Enkidu couple, this is not even their strongest form. Being bounded by the grail to this temporary body is a big limiter, and there's also the fact that the world is not in the Age of Gods anymore, so the amount and influence of "mystics" is not as prominent as back in the day. So, yeah. Snowfield got one hell of a beating in that desert, but it still was majorly lucky, all things considered.
And since I'm here, might as well give some context on Enkidu. The reason why Faldeus (murderous chatterbox) was unsure about the gender to assign this entity, is because it's literally a bunch of clay. The Mesopotamian Gods wanted to keep Gil in check, so they infused some clay with the breath of life, and tasked it with the mission to bring back Gilgamesh. Before going there, Enkidu met with Uruk's sacred prostitute, Shamhat. That's the person they where referring to during the short break from the fight. Shamhat taught Enkidu the ways of the world, making it a civilized entity. Out of reverence, Enkidu decided to use its shape-shifting abilities to assume Shamhat's appearance. That's why its character design is so leaning on the feminine side.
Then it went to Uruk and met with Gil, sharing a battle lasting seven days and seven nights. By the end of it, Gil only had 10% of his weapons left, and Enkidu 10% of its clay. They were inebriated by each other's strenght, and so became rommat-, I mean... friends!
Lastly, the reason why "the thing" is Enkidu's natural enemy isn't simply because of the life/death situation. It's because a curse of death is literally what took out Enkidu, back in the day. The Gods did not enjoy how it ended up becoming friend with the one it was tasked to chain up, so they literally cursed it to death and it reversed back to clay. Enkidu's death plays a major part on Gil's growth, both as a person and as a king. He even starts a whole journey to get some reviving herbs from the underworld, but that's a story for another time.

If you would like to get some insight into Gilgamesh and Enkidu, the series Fate Grand Order: Babylonia provides some interesting backstory (and it’s a GREAT Fate series with a lot of stuff different from the UBW/Heaven’s Feel stuff)

Fate/strange Fake is an odd Case
it is after an unknown timeline of Fate/Stay Night but is also heavily connected to fate/zero.
On the side it refferences Alot of Type Moon Works.

its a sequel to either UBW/HF or a timeline of both routes mixed as Waver & Rin still dismantled the HGW system in japan and many other countries which doesnt happen in the Fate route
It's basically has a lot of connection to other fate (of SN,Zero, Apocrypha, F/Prototype, Lord El Melloi and even Fgo Babylonia)
@gluebreeza1999 dismantling of the Grail happens in every route. And FSF takes place in its own world which is s weird combination of Tsukihime and Fate worlds.

If you don't know who Enkidu is then you need to watch Fate GO Babylonia. He's the creature that was created specifically counter Gil after he betrayed the gods.
That was Kingu in FGO.

The old man at the end is Zeldretch, he is ridiculously OP. He wields True Magic called kaleidoscope, he can travel to other dimensions and draw power from them. In the Nasuverse there are beings called Archetypes, they are the strongest beings of the planets and the moon also has one, Zeldretch fought and won against TYPE-MOON. The "Great Spider" he mentions is ORT or Archetype Mercury who is currently sleeping in south america. Needless to say the servants we see here are some of the strongest ones.
ORT is confirmed not to be Type Mercury but Type Oort Cloud in FGO Atlantis.
Those strongest ones(Top Servant level) are like 7 of them(Gil, Enkidu, Pale Rider, Alcides, Richard, Huwawa, and True Assassin probably) which is more than half of the Servant cast. It's defnitely more than the Top Servants that appeared in other Fate animes as Zero had 4(Gil, Iskandar, Artoria and Gilles), FSN had three(Gil, Artoria, and Herc), Apocrypha has 5(Karna, Achilles, Jeanne, Vlad, and Semiramis), And Last Encore only have Saver. Only FGO is an exception cuz Babylonia alone have about the same amount as FSF Top Servant
@@miteigi8334 Ahhh so it isnt type mercury got it. Also semiramis isnt considered a top servant because you need a lot of money and resources to build the hanging gardens. Last encore also had Gawain in it and hes a top servant as well, just like a lot of the Knights of the Round Table

@@DR_REDACTEDit's a red herring because of an odd line between Faldeus and Harui stating that Berserker is the rival of Nikola Tesla, Harui and Faldeus had no f'ing clue what they're talking about and were assuming it was Edison because that was the servant she was trying to summon.
Another reason is because Huwawa appears as a rust-colored robot with spider-like legs and a "lion" motif and Edison in FGO is stated to have a monster form called "Thomas Mazda Edison" along with the fact that the catalyst used to summon her was a Mazda Lamp and Harui wonders if Berserker's physicql appearance is a result of using a Mazda Lamp as the catalyst. (It wasn't )
So it's not that surprising that some people thought Berserker was Edison.

I am pretty sure from what ive heard from many novel readers that gil and enkidus relationship is explained good enough later in strange fake, so not really necessary to watch babylonia unless you want to go deeper into the relationship.

just something important to note about summoning the servants:
a relic isn't "required" but it will give you an advantage. the relic is basically limiting what you "could" summon.
flat didn't have one, so the grail will summon someone that is compatible with the summoner either through personality or other personal factors. Ie, flat is studying in britain, refers to waver by big ben, etc. a lot is taken into consideration, and so he summoned ****

A quick rundown on the servants shown so far:
Berserker: Jack the Ripper, a sentient legend rather than the actual thing.
Archer: Gilgamesh, the protagonist of The Epic of Gilgamesh, the world's oldest written story. Literally the world's first recorded superhero.
Lancer: Enkidu, Gilgamesh's best friend from the same story. Made by Gods to be an Anti-Gilgamesh weapon and the two fought each other to a standstill, then became buds instead.
Caster: Alexandre Dumas, celebrated 19th century novelist from France. Author of The Count of Monte Cristo, the Three Musketeers, and the Nutcracker.
Saber: *Spoiler*
Servants shown but without a real historical or mythological counterpart:
Assassin: Unknown.
Rider: the little girl's Servant. It's more of a concept rather than a mythological figure. Regardless, the most dangerous thing summoned so far.
Ell melloi case files would have been a nice watch since it's after the war in fate zero but before the one in unlimited blade works and its all about waver so you get to know the characters seen here a bit

Seems like you didn't watch Apocrypha since you confused Zelretch with Ruler. Zelretch is the old mage who appears in the end and he was also in Heaven's Feel 3.

Safe to say they never so Apocrypha, El Melloi case files or know about FGO, but I still very much enjoyed this reaction. I am a huge fan of the franchise so seeing some references missed (like Enkidu and Gil's reunion, Ruler class or this alt version of Jack) stung but they made good connections and noticed a lot of things which made this a good reaction. At least they saw 2 series to put things together for this one.
Might want to watch The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II, a spinoff series that takes place before Fake/Strange and after Fate/Zero. It puts a few things in context :)
