- Namaste, Ultraviolette Automotive today launched their first bike F77 at a starting price of Rs 3.8 lakh Ex-Showroom. Here are some impressions that I gathered on the launch event today.
The amount of engineering and testing gone into this bike is commendable. It's not a hurried botchup. It's a well tested and definitely going to start a new revolution. It's a proper product unlike others like revolt etc which are Chinese knockoffs
Exactly. Atleast they are not rebranding and selling chinese bikes/scooters unlike some other companies. Also the power figures are really good.
And the price of base variant seems fine to me, maybe a little on higher side.
@@klepto9764 i have been following this product closely for quite sometime now. They have taken the route of TVS motors in this regard. Iam a big fan of TVS motors racing divison and how they have been investing in R&D and bringing them to commuter bikes. Best example. TVS Radeon. Ultraviolette has gone the same way. The next right thing they have to do is listen to customers feedback.
Revolt is not a knockoff, more people have bought revolt bike and F77 will not come close in sales numbers.
Just a pity that it's priced so high, performance wise it's unable to beat the Apache rr310, so logically it should've been priced around the 3 to 3.5L on road market. Rn it's one of if not the least vfm bike you can buy.

The problem of Electric vehicles is that they were supposed to bring down cost and save the environment. On the contrary they are getting more and more expensive which is exactly opposite to what they were supposed to do.

Exactly and they don't even outweigh the advantages of IC engine,even after spending 5 lakh you can't do long rides there are still no charging points at most places.for half that price you can get something like interceptor 650 or a bunch of other options.
Companies are now making a lot of profit under this electric badging. Sometimes feels like a scam. What is the use of electric vehicles if they are so overpriced? Batteries can’t be so expensive. And if they are, then get rid of them already because they too are an environmental hazard.

This bike makes no sense in the market right now and the price category is really weird.
Battery : Ather : 3.5 KW F77 : 10 KW
Rnage : Ather : 141 KM F77 : 300+ KM
Power : Ather : around 6 KW F77 : 32 KW
Torque Ather : 26 Nm F77 : 100 Nm
and the list goes on and on...
just seeing the specs F77 is 3X Ather in every aspect !
moreover this F77 is not a scooter its a fucking premium bike... it just cant be under 3 lakhs. if you cant understand this then its your problem.. give them a break.

With increase in demand, they may be able to bring cost down with mass production. A lot of capital has been invested in R&D. But this is def a complete product and looks super cool.
Here's my take. I feel limited addition price should have been 4.55l, recon 3.80l and standard 3.15l. uv is aiming too high and maybe they want to target selective audience but bike enthusiasts too would prefer power and performance with an affordable price tag. Duke 390 and gt650 would be like ...ye kya bawaseer bna diya hai uv ne..i watched the launch event where founder of uv explained the cost analysis of owning a ice vehicle over electric. That is justified but what about the class of individuals who r thrill seekers,like to ride but their monthly commute is 250 km? Ice vehicle like Duke 390 or gt650 would be much better than this f77.think a bit practically. Saal mein 50 bike mushkil se bikenge uv ke..u cannot survive in Indian market if u bypass middle class. Pricing wouldn't fit into logic of average middle class man who dreams of such bikes.

We should understand the Indian population mindset in general. People only care about the final price they don't care whether it's subsidized or not. Regarding comparing of ice and electric..90 percent of masses is not tech ready until charging times reduce drastically and charging infrastructure improve by miles. Opinions matter and people have their own opinions which shouldn't be judged. Aam admi wud compare ice and electric in this early stage as they will get more thrill at lower price than electric. M strictly talking about middle class. Not of early tech adopters..no pun intended 😅 because at the end of the day it's a superbike and performance will be compared with ice as there's nothing to compare it with this early in ev revolution. Ab logo ko speed chahiye toh superbike ke hisab se 147 top speed looks like a joke and ballistic mode available only from 100 to 70 percent charge. And people have no idea about build quality as of yet. 😅Toh yeh bike Mubarak ho early smart tech adopting people ko.. 😅🙏

Will still need 4 hours to refill. The bike is around as capable as a Duke 390. I don't get what's special about the bike, given the price.

@@Hrushikesh_mane not that great on performance either, is it? You can expect a lot more performance, or at least the same kind of performance if you go for a petrol at the same price point. So, it's basically only about "saving the earth."
You also need to consider, a "biker" needs range. 250kms on a charge and having to wait 4 hours to do another 250. You don't have to deal with that crap if you buy a petrol.

TVS needs to take over this brand and scale up their production so that these bike's price can be brought down. No one will buy this bike over a Royal Enfield with this type of price .

@@tanksalot8029 bro first see the TORQUE, BHP 100 Nm torque and 37+ BHP and now R15 18BHP and 14 Nm torque....when it comes to speed, for ur kind information....the Battery driven vehicles are made with speed limiter.....because they will literally keep on increasing their speed and it could touch 300 400 or even more because its battery driven, they are hell of a powerful vehicles, it doesn't have any Cylinder dependent power output which limits the speed....do not underestimate EVs

4.3L is good price. For limited edition 4.5 is max price people can pay.

I liked the design,overall looks interesting and compact no bs. everything is well placed,i hope that material used for outer body is durable. instruments cluster could be more ergonomic in terms of display.

Problem is, this is not a super by any stretch..its speed and acceleration spec matches a 250-300 cc bike that are available at half the price and without the headache of battery charge and all this associated with it.

I was really looking forward to buying this bike for this decade(as i sold all my prev petrol bikes and now only have an Ather), even though its sportier than my riding style/type and atleast 30% costlier than my budget. But, no fast charger and no tank space means too many compromise for too much price. I wanted to buy it for longer trips that i do and wanted to keep it for a decade....but i guess i have to wait for few more years and keep using the Ather for short trips and rent out petrol bikes for long trips...it would still be economical.

as far as fit and finish go it absolutely insane but the specs or not upto the price but it gets compansated with by fuel price (which is the power). it looks super good probably the best in its price point.
headlight is like apache 200 just the difference is of drl 's

Power is slightly below z900 (- 12-2 nm) but top speed is what convinces with that maintained range values..
PROS:
7.1 kwh battery of ultraviolet @ 3.8Lakh , ITS VEY CHEAP COMPARED TO 2.9 kwh battery with Ather @1.8Lakh, ON TOP OF THAT ITS A HIGH QUALITY BIKE WITH CHAIN DRIVE & NOT A SCOOTER, SO ITS VERY CHEAP COMPARED TO EV SCOOTERS.
CONS:
SERVICE & CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

Range must be around 500 km and charging must be within 2 hrs. Until this achievement electric two wheelers are not going to succeed at all.
Not everyone one wants super speed or heavy look and muscular style n all..
At the end what matters is only the range and charging time.
Just like 100 to 125cc vehicles get sold a lot compared to 150cc n upper segment vehicles, most people want range so we need a lot R&D in it.

Slashing the gst on ev batteries from 18% to 5% is the only effective way to make Electric vehicles dearer.

If the ideology is based on profit making (like bajaj) it would never pass on the benefits to the customer, but Tvs does passes the benefit to the customer (evident in iqube gen2 models)
Fortunately, tvs is a stakeholder in Ultraviolette. Also numerous spares are shared btw them (like indicators, suspension). These things do come at a premium pricing, since they are used in bmw as well

Why are the rear brakes on the right footpegs? Give them on the handlebar on the left side. Clutch is the reason why bikes don't have the rear brakes on the handlebar. From cycles to scooters, the rear brakes are on the handlebar, since they don't need a clutch.

The price of UV F77 is not justified according to the Indian market standard although other companies have very close eyes on this. Im sure competitor's have some opportunities to bring their existing models in the market by adding good features win it with affordable price

They way they covered the side panel it would have looked even better if they would have went with a different headlight and integrated it with the sides ,and made it fully faired bike. Coz this looks kinda weird it is not really naked nor it is faired ,and specially after seeing the stripped down version you can see if they would have just covered the battery with small panel then it would have looked like a naked bike.
I would say if you are able to afford this vehicle better to go with ice vehicles if you wish to travel n do tours n secondly I think it's high time now that government makes it mandatory for the vehicles to have same kinda charging port
Sir, glanza/baleno/i20 and amt/cvt/manual main confuse hoon. Kis company and gearbox ki service cost and maintenance cost kam hai and service quality good hai. 10-12 saal ke liye chahiye, 300-400 kms monthly, light footed within speed limit chalata hoon. Budget 10 lakh on road, city/highway 40:60
