The message I got was: it's acceptable for women to objectify themselves, but if a man does it, he's wrong. It's hypocritical, but as long as she feels "empowered" who cares, right?

I understand the show is trying to be relatable and socially conscious but the whole purpose of TV is to escape reality can you be more creative with your writing and add a story line.
BLVKMAJIK I agree with the need to get creative and add storylines but there are countless shows that try to be as realistic as possible, shows in which that’s the entire purpose
Everything on TV or art in general has different purposes. It's not all just one thing. Some reflect life, some are fantasy.
All art is a reflection of real life because that's where artists draw inspiration from
i like that it reflects real life i just need a story line i feel like every episode is different and they try to portray lifelong issues in 30 minute segments.
