Katrina is Queen!!!...of rifts and runs. There are just Mori, Katrina and Gigi from the Philippines that are tearing up CZcams like no others. They also happened to my favorites singers.

Katrina has more than proven to be the equal of Morissette. The only person who would say that is someone who hasn’t dived in to much of her videos. If anything I think she was out doing her in 2020, all the reactors are going to discover the roll that she was on very late it and it is their loss, but her fans know how to get the attention on CZcams. I hear that she’s more popular in the Philippines because she has the publicity and people working with her compared to Katrina who doesn’t have that much time to travel and do all the publicity because she’s taking care of her son. But that doesn’t mean that the talent is not equal.
Vocal technique? Check vocal ability with riffs and runs? Check .emotive ability? Check. range? Check .power? check. whistle notes? check. In fact, her riffs and runs and her ability to sustain long notes is actually more than Morissette’s ability. I even think she has proven to do more with her whistle notes.

I didn't realize you react to Katrina Velarde and Sam Mangubat so I'm really surprised honestly but I know you'll study vocal techniques and technicalities too so I understand that as a vocal coaches such as yourselves because you pause the videos to evaluate the vocality of it but Filipinos are unique to it's vocal prowess abilities too so we have our own take on the songs of other artists so I understand the surprises foreigners have which other artists set apart from the original so it's understandable.
PPop is now a dominant force in the Philippines. You just haven't got wind of it. Front runner, SB19 is PPop Kings and right behind them are groups like BGYO, Alamat, Bini, 1st One, Kaia, PHP and a lot more. All those groups esp. SB19 sing ballads as well. And all of them perform live without autotunes...

Since you reacted to katrina, i am strongly recommend for you to react to her covers of (you choose which one you react first) "go the distance" on wish bus, mulan's "reflection" and "latin medley" on her channel katrina velarde official. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. She has a collab with budakhel, a trio of equally good if not best philippine male singers covers of "one sweet day" by mariah carey and boyz2 men, this one you not miss, which lots of vocal coaches said better tyan the original (but that depends o how you react to it). Katrina is tagged as philippines' queen of riffs and runs.

That girl has a power to move mountains by just merely using her voice, Christ in sprinkles.. you have to check out more of her cover songs tland be awed by how much her vocal ability can bring out the holy crap in you.. this girl can SING (most understatement of all). I'd like to recommend another Filipino singer with the same calliber as Mori and her in your collection. Do check out Gigi De Lana with her band Gigi Vibes. They have YT channel and doing live stream gigs and singing requested song by live audiences.
