      I was a ref for a YMCA youth sports league. I've seen cops called on at least 2 games before and multiple other horrible parents. The kids were hardly ever the issue

    parents and coaches are the single worst thing about youth sports. People who are generally mis or ill informed about the actual rules of the sport, with huge emotional connections to the game.

    I live in Scotland, so 2 things:
    I would love to have played on a pitch as good as that.
    It wasn't classed as a dirty tackle if you left the pitch on your feet.

      He he, not much different in Chile. I played in a local league there with only 1 grass pitch while the rest were dirt. Every player and his dog turned up for that one match. It was our Wembley moment.

      Also played a fair bit in Scotland too, around the Ayr area, fuck she was a nasty 90 lol

    Lmao 🤣 if you think that's out of control then you should come and play or watch some Sunday league men's football in the UK . Imagine 22 half drunk men (who all believed they could have made it as a pro player but got an injury or some other excuse ) playing a game that's a mix of football ( soccer ) rugby and boxing in the pouring rain at 10 am on a freezing cold day .

    I was a very aggressive physical player at this age, but I really always tried to make my contact as clean as possible. Hearing parents get up in arms used to warm my heart so much.

      If you watch it in slow speed Dark Blue beats Light blue to the ball and contacts the ball with the outside of his right foot first.
      Dark blue played the ball. Yes, he did so without regard for the safety of light blue. But, that's not really Dark blue's problem.
      Kid played the ball. And trucked light blue. I could see a red card played but I also see why the yellow card was played. Dark Blue was technically in the right.
      Wasn't an "obvious red card".

      @@d.i.p4076 where? I played in 0.25 and I see dark blue tuck his arm in to avoid the elbow and light blue swings his hand/arm into dark blues face when he stumbles for the ball. He lost his footing and didn't commit and got rocked as a result.

    I am a soccer coach for kids in USA and love it when the parents scream from the sidelines for everything. Fouls, offsides, handballs....when the fact is 75% of them don't even know the sport. Just like I would never dare call a foul in basketball or American football.

I’m also in the club that thinks any youth sport should be played with out the parents yelling if they do they should not only get kicked from that game but the next one also. Or better yet play without any parents present. The kids would enjoy it more and probably have more fun.

    Field- horrible conditions to play a game in
    Parents- out of control and disrespectful, embarrassing
    Yellow Card - yes, ran right into the guy going for the ball, thing was both of them were seeming going for it but it was sloppy.

      @@FEDEXLuchs After checking again I see what you mean and that he didn't raise his elbow like I initially thought he did. However, I still think its a red because if you watch the player in dark blue you can see the exact moment he turned away from the ball and went for the player. Yes you are allowed to protect yourself by dropping your shoulder but the kid purposefully went for the player and not the ball. Pair that with the shoulder check to the head that means double yellow which means straight red.

    Maybe i did not see something with the arms and shoulders, but the dark blue player had a right to go for that ball. The light blue player had not touched the ball; he got in the way of the dark blue player who actually touched the ball first. Maybe it was reckless of the dark blue player to be running so fast -- that is a tough interpretation of reckless play.

    It was a foul, I don’t see the elbow and the most important thing and I say this with all due respect in FOOTBALL which this is , it’s not soccer there are no ejections, they are yellow and red cards , no penalty shots it’s just a penalty , the players change in the changing rooms not locker rooms , at least you stopped taking penalties from the half way line , that’s something 😩

      +Mike Holley - I take it you are being sarcastic. A slide tackle by one and then an elbow to the face by another, both scream "less talented and goonish". Neither play was a soccer move....not even close. Both players should have been removed from the game. Ref needed to send a message and failed on the second call.
