Thanks for a great walkthrough, Alex! Do you also connect your VEP template to Dorico? And if so, do you know if it’s possible to have both the DAW and Dorico connected simultaneously? That would make for a pretty smooth integration of the softwares.
I don't use it in Dorico, though I have thought about setting it up. I've not really bothered to try setting up expression maps in Dorico, but I've heard that it's a pain. And I'm pretty certain you wouldn't be able to connect to both at the same time unfortunately. That would be great if you could!
You're welcome! For some plugins (SINE, Kontakt), you can have up to 16 midi channels within one instance of the plugin, and rack instruments in Cubase are great for this!
Quite an interesting and informative video, as well as all your videos. I am a very new user of VEPro7, and I have watched videos from many users in order to have a complete picture of its use. But there is a pitfall in this. Although I started to set up my own template, every time I learn something new and which I think will be useful in the process of managing my work, I revision the template, resulting in a delay in completing it. Finally what I understood is that setting up a template is VERY !!! time-consuming affair, which at some point will end. By the way, have you calculated how long the initial template took you? After all, is there really a significant difference between using VEP than if you had it all set up in Cubase? I have a ten-core i9 with 64GB ram, and yet the fact of all these tracks worries me. Thank you very much for the information you share with us.
When I first started out using VEP7, I think it took me several days to complete a template. Now I could probably do it in a day. It really depends on how complicated your routing is, and how many instruments you want included. What DAW are you using? And what samples are you primarily using?

Thanks so much for this. I’m struggling with my VEPro template and not being able to use negative track delays for different articulations. I find myself endlessly nudging the midi notes trying to get the right timings. How do you deal with this?
It's definitely problematic if you want multiple articulations per track. I try to group similar articulations together, so any nudging adjustments are minimal, but it's still a pain. You're using Cubase? What samples are you using?

Hi, how much ram do you need for your whole orchestral template in VEPro? I build my own without VEPro so I can deactivate the track, the problem is the project size will be so huge.
How much RAM you need depends on what samples you use. I have 128gb, but I realistically could get away with 64. If SINE player added a proper purge, that would help. I used to deactivate the tracks, like you do, but I found that to be tedious. Now if I needed to, I could deactivate instruments in VEP, or even folders or entire instances within VEP.
I sit and pray that I could understand what are talking about sooner so I can finally set my template. Thank you for the help anyway very detailed

I see so many people using the racks instead of the vst’s Instrument tracks. Can I ask why people do this?

Great video as always just a question why almost all pro composers use vinna ensemble pro thank you for your time .
I think it's a convenience thing -- anything that speeds up or simplifies the workflow usually becomes popular among composers

I'm not entirely sure. I guess it would depend on your system and how you route audio. It sounds a bit complicated!
