I remember being a little kid and glued to the TV whenever she was on. I was mesmerized by her beautiful voice and face. She had it all and gave it up to be a mother to her daughters. I met her once and she was the most kind and funny celebrity I ever met. I live in LA and have met many and she was so down to earth.

Yes, I heard that too and I don't doubt it for a second. It's not only very tragic, but hugely ironic that a woman who was a lifelong non smoker should die of lung cancer of all things.
Her untimely death at just 63 years old was a terribly sad and premature ending for one of the greatest musical talents that ever lived.

Still waiting for a biopic of her life, starred by Kelly Rowland.
I'd really love that too, but they had better hurry up and get that film made, as Kelly Rowland is already over 40.
However, she does look much younger than her real age, so she could probably get away with it and looks uncannily like her.
However, I'd much prefer her to lip synch to Donna's own original recordings, rather than sing those classic songs herself, as Kelly's singing voice is nothing like hers.
If it was done properly, it could be one of the best music biopics ever, with an absolutely killer soundtrack.
