Was in the Chinese web, while talking with a friend inside the firewall. Looked up Jvne, saw this in one of the lists, all the way at the bottom. I listen to Jvne everyday, and hadn't heard this until now. Its so massive. Come back Jvne, don't give up on music. You help so many. Forget the haters, they are a pebble.

Jvne really was a musical genius. I will never understand how she was able to make music that captivated so much emotion and feeling through just raw sound. I listen to hundreds of genres and love them all, but nothing emotionally affects me more than any of Jvne's tracks.

it's mostly just sampling and doing spectral interpolation (basically the "Paulstretch" effect in Audacity with the time resolution set to about 2 secs and stretch factor set to 10.0). This music really isn't that hard to create.
      Recipe for a Sewerslvt track:
      1. Get an existing track. For example, some trance track, or even a videogame OST, like "Sunny Days" from the Vib-Ribbon OST. Sewer used a lot of PS1 samples, like the Resident Evil OST
      2. Import into Audacity
      3. Effects > Paulstretch, mess around with parameters. Large time resolutions work the best, stretch factor has to be above 2 or you won't get good results
      4. Import into your DAW of choice, ex. FL Studio
      5. Apply a convolver with white noise as the carrier, make sure the noise has an envelope. FL Studio's Fruity Convolver has a preset called "Blur", which is exactly that.
      6. Apply a reverb effect of choice. I've had good results with Valhalla VintageVerb, with the year parameter set to 1980.
      7. Get amen breaks and chop them up. 2 bars is enough, you can just repeat the break for the whole duration of the song.
      8. Add some edgy anime vocal that talks about death or something. You want the song to sound all dark ya know
      9. Follow in the classic breakcore tradition and add some cool synths like a 303. FL Studio has Transistor Bass, which is an emulator of the 303.
      10. Add some bass. Of course, this is Sewerslvt, so the bass sound design is also simple. One saw wave, 8 unison voices, with a warm low-pass filter. Add distortion to taste.
      11. Do basic mixing and mastering. Nothing too complex. For mastering all you need is FL's Maximus. Or even better, just a regular multi-band compressor, the most simplest kind you can imagine.
      12. Render it all out.
      13. Create a neon anime girl cover art by mashing together like 50 different images from random sources. Remember to saturate the living hell off it.
      14. Profit
Created a couple of tracks that sounded exactly like this in about an hour. Sampling's not that hard if you've listened to a lot of music, which Sewer definitely did (did you see her mashups during the Sadboy Sheldon days? daymn)
Also, many people say that she invented this type of music - far from it. Many breakcore producers made music like this, most notably G.S. (their actual handle would probably make YT ban this comment. Wonder if Sewer also got the idea for a vulgar handle from them...?)
So calling Sewer a "musical genius" is kinda cringe :)

I like to think of sewerslvt songs like an infinite void and the louder and chaotic the song is the closer to the center but with songs like these are more like miles away and off course

Wow, Jvne is truly one of the most talented musicians out there. The way they convey such strong emotion through just instrumentals, its amazing. Never met an artist who can do the same, but AgonyOST is damn close. I wonder if it's actually them. The music is so similar.
