He took Tesla from 0 to biggest auto company in history. Founder status. Same as Ray did with McDonald’s.
In order for Musk to even get 30% of Disney's stocks, he'd have to pay most of his entire fortune over, where half isn't even possible. Add in that if he does buy up enough stocks, it'll cause the price to skyrocket before he reaches the full 30%. So yeah, he can try, but it's basically impossible (and just so we're clear, the highest stock owner within Disney only owns 8% of stocks pricing at nearly $1 billion in vallue, and they're not gonna sell to Musk just cause he wants it. Hell, it's literally impossible for Musk to buy up half the stocks because he'd need way too many stock holders to sell him theirs, and most won't just do that).

There's a lot more to this than what's officially out there. By the way, the board members are made up of Iger's friends and associates and hold very little stock in the company, so have very little responsibility towards it. In terms of voting, they do whatever he says.
one of the biggest lies in cooperate ownership is that board members and the CEO need to have a large amount of stock to be properly incentivized to do their job. this is woefully untrue, large ownership stakes by board members and CEO's tend to cause short term gerrymandering of books and a lack of long term investment. likewise having incentive packages based on a stock price reflects, only short term goal of increasing the stock price instead of corporate value.
That being said, Iger's return to the company has been messy.
Currently Disney prices in little over 200 billion. If he tries to buy it then it will jump to 250 billions quickly. He can't afford that even with friends

The first amendment doesn’t apply here but it’s also not what the lawsuit is about. You cannot fire someone for their gender, race, etc BUT you can fire someone for expressing a political view, political views are not protected, and that is really why her lawsuit is absurd.

Media then run with the narration that Twitter valuation went down from $44 billion to $22 billion. Twitter was never worth as much, but it was that or Musk would've to battle in the court.

I’ve long said that Apple should buy Disney. It would be a drop in the bucket for them and give them all sorts of IP and infrastructure to their streaming division.
I know Iger has brought it up before. And they were quick to line up Disney content for the Vision Pro. We'll see what happens.
It also comes with massive world wide theme parks, which apple does not have any institutional knowledge or desire to own. It comes with a lack of synergy for apples core enterprise, electronics. While it does have value for their streaming service, apple already has the cash on hand and expertise to run their streaming service without outside help. the linear TV services would be an albatross to anyone buying Disney as even Disney doesn't have a great plan on how to deal with it.
All in all, apple has better things to do with their money then buy a bloated entertainment company just to get access to their back catalog.

If he made an offer, the board would have a fiduciary duty to its shareholders to entertain the offer at the very minimum. But they’d also have the evidence to sight that the Twitter takeover was disastrous and there’s no reason to suspect that a Disney takeover wouldn’t be equally disastrous. That being said, I think Musk would have to provide a solid plan to profitability in order for him to acquire serious loans. He would need something in the ballpark of 200 billion dollars from investors and loans. That’s a whole new level of trust that musk would have to acquire, at a time when he is trusted the least.

Parks and resorts are still very profitable. The tv side needs to be sold besides espn,entertainment they need to stop putting triple A movies on disney+ because is stealing box office revenue.

The interesting thing is the collateral damage in the process, Disney prides itself on how clean the parks are and well maintained the area is vs the surrounding area to the point that they have their own fire department so it wouldn't surprise me if that disappears in the first week. Then watch as a public meltdown followed by a crap load of toothless lawsuits as various IP enters the public domain (Steamboat Willie was just the first).
According to Fidelity investments (one of the investors that helped bankroll the Twitter takeover) twitter has lost 72% of its value since the takeover which concluded in Oct 2022. I sadly think he can run Disney into the ground faster, however I agree with Grasshopper.80, this sure as hell be an interesting watch.
Judging by Disney box office results and Disney plus subscriber numbers from, the only way is up. Disney needs to stop pushing unpopular woke content, bring back strong male leads, and stop with the Mary Sue female leads (normal non-Mary Sue leads would be fine regardless of gender ).

Musk could be considering buying the news and or digital TV companies from Disney since he wants more control of media and news and I don’t think those companies make much money for Disney.
Those linear networks made $11.7 Billion in revenue in FY23 and were the only profitable part of the company's Entertainment segment. Not the highest earning business, but still important to Disney.
Why does Disney insist on replacing, rather than being creative with their productions. Representation matters, of course it does. A hispanic, asian or black childs deserves to see their community represented in hollywood. BUT BE CREATIVE.
