Red Mites is a sucking insect that damage the Arecanut crop during Summer Months. Higher thw temperature more will be the damage. Red mites are unable to see by the naked eye. They suck the sap from the lower surface of the leaf. The affected leaves turn red and they will dry. This is more common in younger Arecanut Gardens. To manage this farmers need to spray Systamic insecticides like Propargite @ 2 ml or Ethion @ 2 ml or Hexythiozox @ 1 ml per liter of water.
