- A boy zooming on a zip line through a rainforest in Costa Rica abruptly collided with a sloth clinging to the cable. He waited around 15 minutes for the sloth to get out of the way before proceeding.

I live In Costa Rica and wildlife including sloths are protected..it was the Zipline company's responsibility to check the line was clear.they could get a possible fine or shut down for this
I’m a native of Costa Rica, the sloth is mostly surprised and a little confused but chances are it’s not hurt. The child on the other hand has an awesome story to tell!!!

It would be a 4 hour video of a sloth creeping along the line. I'd just grabbed it and held on to it.
It was 15mins then the sloth got off the line.
That poor baby. I think when it stopped to look back. Holding its arm out, says to me. "Ouch"

@@rochelleclark3933 it doesnt hold on with its claws like a tiny bat because sloths are heavy. he most definitely suffered friction burns from getting dragged down the zipline. just the impact alone would have been shocking and probably painful. i hope that this is avoided more carefully in the future.

Isn't the zipline company supposed to make sure the area they're operating in is safe for the wildlife? The sloth could have been hurt even more if it was an adult who came flying down that zipline.

@@quackatit unfortunately the fall from the zip wire looked a long way down. It is questionable if even a sloth could survive a fall from that height.

When that happens will the zip line still stand ? When all the trees r gone. Then where will the sloth go to get out the way. It is his home they r invading not the sloth. Similar to driving in Denver. We have many sloths on the road these days, clogging traffic.

That sloth was in His home and he doesnt know the difference between a vine or a zipline. What saddens me is that neither the father nor the son seemed the least bit concerned if they had hurt that poor thing. I would have been Thrilled to have such a natural encounter with such an adorable, fascinating animal.
