@robsargent4 The song is a traditional song with author unknown. The Corries songbook says their version is taken from the singing of Jock Anderson from Limiecleuch which is in the Borders. There is a recording of the old Borders folk singer and shepherd Willie Scott singing it on Napster. He doesn't sing the verse about England and Ireland etc -rather it is about Burns and Scott along with the ordinary folk being the lads that was reared among heather.

We allow the Royal Family to continue to have the titles & privileges they have, but if we really wanted we could strip them of all their titles & privileges & in my opinion that we wouldn't be stripping anyone of anything that they're entitled to. Their ancestors simply stole the land from the people & said God gave it to them & it was their divine right to rule the rest of us. England is not the problem.(There were and are loyal English Jacobites), It's simply a matter of a Stuart or a Lochiel family politely asking the Windsor's to vacate a Royal House which is not theyres by right!.......JamesVll would have protected the right's of the follower's of the Anglican church. England had nothing to do with his removal, his own Scotsmen, (Presbetyrian's) had a panic attack for nothing!

acerb45666555 There should be a semicolon after
'Jacobites' in line 2; no apostrophe after the 'r' in Windsors, a plural, in line 3; the spelling 'theirs' instead of the egregious 'theyres' in line 4; a space after James in the same line; no apostrophe after 't' in 'rights', another plural, or after the 'r' in followers', yet another plural, in line 6; a semicolon after 'removal' in line 6; and the correct spelling 'Presbyterians' in the closing line.
      Please go back to school.
