Dude, I've never noticed the "666" on the playing cards @ 0:42 when I was a kid until now I've finally noticed it! I'm so surprised how Don Bluth is very clever at implementing dark imagery in Family/Kids films.
For one, Don Bluth wasn't involved in this movie. It was a different director. And two, you're right! I never knew that they had 666 on this movie! As a kid, no child would notice the symbolism because it'd be too dark for them. It's funny to know about it as an adult when you notice the dark signs in a kids' movie, especially demonic signs. They had the mark of the beast on this film.
Fun fact: Steven Spielberg was going to be the executive producer of All Dogs Go to Heaven 1, but left the project after creative differences with director Don Bluth while they were making The Land Before Time (1988).
I can imagine being distant during production while Don was doing his best to hold down the fort was a key factor.
As a result Spielberg shortened the running time on Land Before Time down to 70 minutes.
He probably wanted to turn it into a p3do fest. Glad Don took over.

Not really. At the time there was this massive angel craze. Everyone was making some kind of angel movie. Angels falling in love with a mortal was a super common trope of the mid to late 90s. It was soap opera sitcom kind of thing. Dark, not so much. It has stakes but it didn't show the hell we saw in the original film of all dogs go to heaven.

I enjoyed this movie a lot when I was little.
I got it from Pizza Hut, as some kind of prize that either came with a kids' meal, or some program where if you read a certain amount of books, you got a movie.

I love this movie too especially the whole franchise
I never noticed all the evil references in this scene when I was younger, but I do now. I shall list them.
The Action: "Red holding three cards with the number 6 on them."
The Reference: "The Number of the Beast (666)."

I like how the clock is an owl. Because owls' calls were a bad omen and owl were considered bad spirits
I enjoyed watching this trilogy as a kid, but man there is dark imagery in these films.
I know right Charlie should’ve trusted Red in the first place, I knew there was something shifty about him from the very beginning cause I don’t trust anybody who is a fortune teller or has a manically laugh.

This is one of the best Don Bluth movie sequels.
I honestly prefer Red in his dog form than his cat form. It shows how deceiving Red is. From pretending he's not interested to lure Charlie into making the deal that's binding.

When I first watched both the part 1 and part 2 of this franchise as a kid in Nigeria, i was damn scared of these movies. Always seemed odd to me cause other Don Bluth movies never scared me, not even Land before Time or Anastasia, Secret of NIMH, or Titan A.E. Now, as an adult, I can't believe I was ever scared of these movies😂😂
You do realize Don Bluth had nothing to do with this movie right? Same with most sequels to his movies. In fact I don't think Don Bluth ever was involved with any sequels, save for Bartok the Magnificent.

the animation in this movie looks incredibley cheap, was this the right idea for MGM to put this as a theatrical film? Well it didn't feel like it. It would have been better off as a direct-to-video movie instead because the quality looks like it.
