    Nice one. How can you tell how much airflow is being extracted?

      Yea would need to use anemometer or better know as an air flow meter to get an exact measurement.

    This wouldn't fix the hood in my kitchen's stove/oven. Although the plans for our condo building show ducts from each kitchen to roof exhaust fans, the builder didn't install the ducts, and each kitchen hood just ineffectually circulates the air within the kitchen.

      Hope they get that straightened out for you. Sounds like pain.
      This video is more for restaurant kitchen hoods. Thanks for watching!

      @@JeffsHVACAdventures : No, the building is about 50 years old, and during my 13 years living here I haven't heard any residents complain that ducts ought to be installed. I only mentioned it here for its amusement value.

      @@brothermine2292 oboy man... I was just on one yesterday... the homeowner purchased this 50 plus year old home 5 years ago and the previous owner redid the air conditioning equipment...
      The contractor installed 3 systems.
      2 are standard split forced air furnace and AC.
      the 3rd is an air handler which requires a heat pump for the heat mode... the installed straight ac on that one too... question... how did it go unnoticed for 10 years and 2 home owners? It does serve the top 3rd floor so, Maybe they don't require much heat up there... who knows... but it's happened several times in my career.
      Crazy

    Hello my friend, I don’t know why my motor that I just replace, it’s running a few minute then it stop, then it running again and again like that! Can u tell me why??

    • @JeffsHVACAdventures
      @JeffsHVACAdventures  Před 3 měsíci +1

      It’s most likely over amping due to the adjustable pulley or the belt being too tight. You will need an amp probe to check how many amps the motor is pulling and cross it to how many amps the motor is rated for printed on the data plate of the motor.

      You will most likely need to hire an hvac or restaurant equipment repair person to take a look.

      @@JeffsHVACAdventures my old one is GE 3/4 hp115v-230v 1ph , then I replace to Marathon 3/4 115V-208-230V 1ph. You think it’s should be alright? Ask I told u it worked, but it’s running for short time then stop, then it’s keep running again after a few minutes

    If that was a direct motor replacement, it was not setup correctly from the getgo. Nice work.

    Incorrect about the looseness opening up the pulley changes the diameter and makes it spin slower should never have loose belts after this type of service you should adjust the belts afterwards

    Question, ours while it’s on, it’ll randomly turn off. After 20 min it’ll start back up

    • @JeffsHVACAdventures
      @JeffsHVACAdventures  Před měsícem +1

      Sounds like it’s turning off on thermal overload. The Thermal overload is an internal safety switch inside the motor to protect itself from abnormal operation. This could be due to a number of different things. Dirty filters or blower wheel, faulty belt or belt tension, improperly adjusted pulley… etc. I would start by making sure everything is clean. If all is clean then I would recommend calling a professional to properly evaluate the unit. 🤙

      @@JeffsHVACAdventures thank you for your quick response! Also, it makes a noise. Maybe a pulley?
