NV resident here. ‘The Shipyards’ in NV is a total success. Public space is so important, more now as cities grow ever larger, and can be done right. Take your time and don’t let the developers push you into a less than stellar win for the people of Kelowna.
This will be a great expansion. It's not often a city of this size gets to do a build out like this right on the water and in such close proximity to the core.
The thing is, open space is only so useful for a growing city that has an ever increasing need for housing and other amenities with lack of room to grow. With most of usable land in the valley bottom being ALR, you have to densify - the alternative is random urban sprawl up mountain sides like we already see. To be honest, Kelowna has a lot of parks...and parks are great but how many do we need? And how do parks and greenspace alleviate the most pressing issues Kelowna has right now and moving forward? I agree incorporate some green space, but housing and more density downtown is a greater need than more parks.

It should be an open space and lower buildings, I feel like the whole north end of the city it's becoming buildings , making the space crowded
