I know, right? It's definitely one of those decks you have to run through it's paces a few times before the lines of play really click, but man is it satisfying.
I'm actually looking for a lot of archetypes with interesting and unique type of plays. And I'm not gonna lie. Your contents is what I look for as I easily understand you and the visuals are easy to read!
There is a small lore. But one thing to point out is that Lys is the synchro and the xyz combined. In the fusion spell blue beard tells black beard what they will need in order to get to the area that is drawn on the map in one of the trap cards
Plunder has become my main deck (Master Duel player) and my god, it's so much fun. I love how my cards have so many interactions, and after playing for a couple weeks, I actually understand them! Moerk is highly underrated, if summoned via xyz summoning, you can detach to preserve any plunder on your field from one line of destruction, and this is not a once per turn ability! And if you summon using whitebeard/Redbeard/Blackbeard, you get a quick effect that can be used to search your field spell. This has saved my ass so many times, and this deck is extremely strong against Maxx C.
Tin goldfish and Wandering King Wildwind work wonderful for both syncro and XYZ summons. TG allows for a seecond level four monester to be summoned, which is what most the cards of. WKW allows to be special summoned if a fiend with 1500 or less ATK is on the field. A Magic card i also use is salvage, since the materials are water type monsters so that when i either syncro or fusion summon, i can get the material needed for me to activate the effects of the monsters
Wow I just discovered your channel and it's great. I've been searching for precisely this type of content but the quality has been lacking whenever I find it. Lacking until now. You've really made some great stuff here. People make these kind of videos but they aren't very palatable due to a lack of focus. Just too much too quickly and with little structure. Really like how well you enunciate each word. So many yugitubers have mush-mouth and it drives me crazy when I'm trying to listen to their videos. To me you're right up there with duel logs, Doug Z., and Cimo. You deserve just as many subs too! Hope it happens for you.

Coming from MTG, I think a lot of problems with the meta might be helped with the MTG Tribal way of handling synergies. For example, these could've been goblins and goblin bikers could've synergized with them rather than their own specific archetypes. Stuff like that would bring a lot more variety closer to the top of the meta, and naturally allow for more support for cards that don't have it. Big Sadge moment
I have seen alot of duels and deck profiles recently for this deck an none of them ever talk about Pride of the Plunder Patroll. It seems like such a good card but i never hear anyone say why they dont run it
TBF in European mythology there's no distinction between gnomes, dwarves, kobolds, goblins, leprechauns, gremlins, broonies and trolls, Unlike the US where mythology tends to be meticulously classified, are European classifications based on vibes, Which means that to many people, broonies are gremlins are gnomes are dwarves are kobolds are goblins are trolls. Thus even if you don't consider them trolls due to your preconceptions, There are people who don't consider either of the examples of a troll you gave to be a troll.
Okay so we will get the other bosses? Ritual? Maybe not. Pendulum? Maybe, they can be put in the extra deck too.. lv 4 pendulum, earth and wind, scales 3 and 5, that will be put in extra deck/pendulum zone if they're discarded (?) Explunder patroll sounds good.. or maybe plunder patrollsloop.. so excited.
That seems pretty cool! The only problem I could see would be sortinf out which Plunders are Equips and which are Scales, but it's just interesting enough that I think they should try it!
I dunno they look more like D&D cute-stylized Kobolds than goblins to me. That or Halflings, specifically a combo of dwarf and gnome with an odd green skin condition.
Well, yeah! Letting a shark on deck is a quick way to boost the premium of your crew's medical insurance xD But in all honesty, yeah, Bahamut Shark makes an incredible inclusion and I can't wait to try it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

honestly, deep down, i hope for ROTD that's the only time they don't add new tcg exclusive archetypes, and continue them the next set after. I'm always excited for what new tcg exclusive konami comes up with, no matter how good or bad they are.
I took a little time and there aren't any trolls out there that look like these guys. The closest is either the trolls from the toy and movie line though they have squat m shaped noses and the Norwegian trolls though only a few images of them that I've seen have pointed ears even if the nose is closer, oh and they don't have green skin while tending more towards the ugly side of things.
I don't think the plunder monsters are consider monster cards when they are in the spell and trap zone. That would be a question for a knowledgeable judge like DistantCoder to confirm though.

It sure does! Though you have to be very careful with your sequencing, as you can end up locking yourself into only being able to summon Plunders for the turn.

Tin Goldfish puts in work for this deck. Goldenhair is easily the best mobster. The combos she enables make the deck viable.

I think this is one of the most technical archetypes ever released. It has a very high skill ceiling.

I find it funny that I had seen both the non-homestuck tolls you used as examples in previous TTRPG books before.
