Stirling Engine Version 3 Test Run

  • This version of the Stirling engine has a water-cooled piston. This solves the thermal expansion issue that it previously faced, allowing it to run until its fuel runs dry.
    The engine runs on 91% isopropyl alcohol.
    I plan to connect some sort of load to the engine in the future.

      I've been looking into that. I can run a fan quite easily, but driving a water pump is going to be quite a challenge.
      I'm thinking of using a water pump from one of those oral irrigators. They seem to have good low friction. I had one, but I tried to turn it into an air engine in my college dorm. Oh well.
