I've been watching this film since the VHS days. Owned all the formats, LD, DVD, Bluray, UHD etc. It was so disappointing how WB removed the original theatrical soundtrack from the 4K release and added that odd blue tint. I can honestly say your restoration is the DEFINITIVE version to watch this classic. I want to personally thank you for all your hard work. Cinema is life and you've truly breathed new life into this film. 🦇🦇🦇
This is the best ‘just after Christmas’ gift I could have discovered. From the bottom of this eternally five-years-old man’s heart: Thank You.
Really like how you gave credit to Bill Finger. That's probably my only complaint about Warner's restoration. They basically gave us the best version of how the movie looked in 1989. But I think in the case of Bill Finger, the man deserves his credit and I wish WB would fix this for every Batman movie/show.
I actually don't like this version since it entirely erases Bob Kane from the picture. I get that Bill Finger did the heavy lifting, but it feels wrong not to credit both of them.
@@ender7278 it doesn't completely remove him, check his first batman restoration video, bob's name comes after finger's.
@@ender7278 well, Bob erased Bill Finger for decades. The irony was it was a big deal that Bob got credited at that time, after decades of wrangling with DC and calls from fans (IIRC) . The irony is that Bob was just as big a villain in it all as DC. Comic Tropes excellent video on Kane is worth a watch to really get how underhand the guy was.
Really a fantastic job! I've been following you for a long time and I'm really excited for the chance to finally see the movie completed. I hope you manage to find the fixed shot for the rooftop scene and reach the 1000 subscribers you deserve. Your work should receive more recognition and notoriety.
Absolutely Incredible work Guys!!!! When this is finally released, with the full correction of all the little nit pick's & touched up scenes etc, it will be truly incredible watching the definitive version of my favorite Batman movie of all time it full 4k glory, but with the same absolute feverish excitement of a now 41 year old, like i was when i first watched on vhs in 1989 as a 7 year old!!! xx
Fantastic job! To be honest, I haven't even seen the 4K version yet but all corrections you've made definitely upgrade the film as a whole! Some of those scenes have been bugging me for 33 years! Liked and Subscribed! Definitely sharing with as many as possible too! Seriously, amazing job! I hope we all get to see the finished product soon!
It looks amazing...you can see all kinds of things that were never there before - especially all the pattern in Joker's costumes.
Just saw the Ultimate Revisited Edition and notice the use of your work, thank you, it was amazing!
The color fix at the end is the most important thing to me. It looks so much better/correct!
Grat work. Only issue I’ve had is that opening animation of Batman. Never looked right, even in 89.
Incredible work! a true work of art and a love letter to all fans of Batman and this movie! Eagerly waiting for the release! Greetings from Brazil!
You did an amazing job! I just subscribed. Hope everyone who sees this does. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole release.
You really went above and beyond with your work.
That shot of Gotham Square at 1:59 made my jaw drop.
Really looking forward to this, outstanding work!
Awesome work! Looks fantastic. Been looking forward to this one and RoboCop
Thanks a ton! Thanks for the comment.... film available to everyone when we reach 1000 subscribers.
5:53 you can see the outline of where they removed the 'cement' for the bullets holes, your replacement holes are right next to them, this is like restoring a piece of art so intricate and time consuming your doing a fantastic job.
I am aware of this... that section of the my video is a few months old now... they are now in the correct place... they obviously let the squibs fire then plastered them up for some unknown reason...
@@DoubleOProductions Jaws 3/3D would be an interesting project, I have always been fond of the movie but the effects are horrendous.
@@missionpassed4584 you know most of the effects are massively improved when watched projected with proper 3D glasses... except of course the shark through the window shot at the end...awful
1000 subs woohoo! Can’t wait to watch this!
I would love to see it released! Subscribed!
I'm sitting through this entire video thinking "please, please fix the ears in the last shot" 🤞 This is amazing work.
great job preserving the quality of classics like these in hq
This is fantastic! I can’t wait to be able to download this. Excellent work!
Dude! links not working! awesome project! i want to see it propperly!
Amazing work! Thank you!
Some great work here well done guys👍
Thanks 👍 How you doing friend? Glad to close the book on this one... phew :)
Really killing it! Can’t wait for this version to be released!
@@DoubleOProductions Those links aren't working. I really hope I get to see this, I love the changes you made.
any chance you can upscale/remaster the deleted scenes and add them back in?
Nobody was upset that these problems weren’t fixed.
Made in ‘89. Flawed in ‘89. Perfect in ‘89.
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
@@DoubleOProductionsnot a lot really is it? You know, given the amount of work you’ve done.
Will an uncompressed 2160p version be made available? The 4k version on disc is 72.77GB albeit with all audio/language options present.
Removing the blue/teal tint leaves such a satisfying feeling. I'm truly sick of studios "remastering" their films in 4k only to plaster this garish color scheme on all their titles. Honestly don't understand what group of modern cinematographers convinced the filmmaking community this is how everything should look. Everything looks lit by cheap LEDs and share the same "look" now.
End of my rant. But amazing job on this classic mate.
Thanks very much Chris... the whole thing is one massive itch that's been in need of the biggest scratch.
Absolutely chuffed with the work you've done. The purple spot on Nicholson's neck has driven me nuts since 1989!
Also, how can I download this in 4k?
1000!!!!! finally!!!! Congratulations Double 'O' Productions!!!!! the link in the description is the new one? thanks!!!! can we have a 4K link too? pleeeeeaseee
Loved this! Brilliant Job 👏👏👏
This is great, some excellent improvements. I Absolutely love Batman 1989 and Batman Returns.
Have fun fixing the continuity mistakes, but the one change the movie really needs is his original colors back. They crushed colors to achieve the teal and orange "Snyder look", the added grading looks AMATEURISH!
Fantastic work. Love this.
@@DoubleOProductions where can I obtain this ? Desperate to watch this better version 🤪
Very meticulous job and very conservative with the original movie and the special effects of the age!
I comment that on the Robocop Restoration but for the rotoscopied frames could be interesting experiment with EbSynth program to streamline the process of painting frame by frame.
Excellent work anyways!
Hello. thanks for commenting and yes EbSynth is an excellent program but like with any program designed to do such things , there is always going to be minor discrepancies.. for now I actually enjoy the frame by frame editing..at least you can be meticulous that way..
Great job on this. Well done guys!
@@DoubleOProductions I’d love to see it in its entirety to review. Is that possible or is it just as a series of scenes? [Paul]
Just discovered your channel. For some reason YT decided to recommend this video to me and I'm so please with all your work, just saw like half of your videos but I'm already so exited to watch all of your edits. It's there a place where we can find all of your work? A private tracker? A blog maybe? Or all you have done it's just here on YT? Thanks for everything.
Thank you for your positive comments... yes as far as I know it can take years for a person's content to start being recommended on CZcams.. and yes everything is here on YT of course the full films aren't... however everything we've done WILL be made available in the very very near future... details will be pasted in descriptions of our content. thanks for watching.
@@DoubleOProductions i just read the description but the links arent avariable, could you please re-upload them?
I don't think any of the gaffs need fixing but I appreciate the effort. The biggest upgrade here is fixing the damn cold blue filter they slapped over the 4K
Bit late to the party here, as I'm only now aware of Double 'O' Productions; Before I watch your ultimate edition of this masterpiece, I'm curious as to if a correction was made to one of my favourite scenes in the film - Scene #23 'Not Exactly Normal' / 'Race to The Batcave'. The wide shot - matt painting composite that reveals the interior of the Batcave immediately after Batman turns on the lights. Although I adore this shot, I was also always fixated on it's flaws (OCD) - specifically the very obvious line directly above Batman's head that joins the matt painting background with the set shot. I'd love to know if this was corrected in your ultimate edition!
Tim Burton would be so proud of your work. I hope the link for this version will be available soon.
@@HNTRSTNG I got an Error message. I believe Warner Brothers took them down or if your from the US its blocked
Great Job and I appreciate the work but, is there an 'unfixed' DNR free, Cinema 89 correct version?
Amazing workk, but download link in your website isn't working. I wanna appreciate your Ultimate Edition, please help!
Will you be releasing it in 1080p as well as 4K?
Fantastic job, gonna watch it tonight.
Amazing work thank you!!!
Is there a way to download this, i tried following the link in the description but the download doesnt seem to work?
Excellent!!. I always thought the "Red Jacket" look was just from the lights of the helicopter.
Found your channel recently and love everything you have done.
Did anyone take you up on your animated batman challenge?
Do you have this in 4k or just 1080p? The site link does not work.
I cant wait to download this whenever its out
watched the movie a 1000 times! never noticed the bat-belt!
Is this still available somewhere? I would love to check this out
Do you plan on fixing the error where batman drops the guy from the bell tower but you can see Batman letting go? There is alot goof when Batman punches joker off the balcony, you can see the shadow of the matt joker lands on
Was watching Nostalgia Critic review and thought what I always disliked about 89 had to be the colorization if that's the right word and sought out to find ....THIS
Are you guys still up to do the fixes on the Blue Danube scene in Kubrick's "2001" that I've asked you about?
You know what...we're going to take another look at it.. lighting was one of the main issues on models wasn't it.
@@DoubleOProductions Thank you for considering it. Yes, the shadows aren't moving on most of the space ferry and satellite shots, only on the ferris wheel space station.
Also, in the scene where the pen is floating in the air next to sleeping Dr. Floyd, there's a visible splotch or smeared fingerprint moving on the glass plate just above Dr. Floyd's head or heardest or so, as the SFX was achieved by glueing the pen on the glass plate and then rotate the plate in front of the camera.
Great work ! you should work for WB awesome man can't wait to see the entire movie corrected .
Any plans on doing one for Batman Forever (1995)?
If you get the 1,000 subscribers, how would one go about obtaining this restoration. I love the work you guys put in. So much better than the 2019 4K.
This is absolutely incredible. One thing though, the shot of Joker falling looks a bit too sharp. Maybe some blur would help blend it a bit more. Other than that... beyond magnificent!
I tried downloading the hd version (1080 p) multiple times and it always stops halfway through, and the message "Failed - Forbidden" is presented. Any solutions?
For some reason the downloaded copy, I get, either keeps freezing, or cuts off towards the middle-to-end. Why's that?
amazing job, can't wait to watch. Will Robocop and Ghostbusters be close behind?
Fantastic work! Hope to be able to acquire a copy of your improved version!
Thanks very much....It goes live once we reach 1000 subscribers...

Yup I'm good! Looking forward to it once you reach the goal.....
Huh, I noticed that in the shot with the bullet strikes in the ledge, the missing ones seem to be actually THERE, but the squibs for them hadn't yet been set off. Seems like the shots were just filmed out of sequence.
The link for it is broken, is there a new link to get this and your other video`s ?

Amazing work, and I was looking forward to downloading it, however both download links seem to be dead? Anyone know what's happening?
Absolutely amazing!
DOUBLE 'O, have you considered doing Superman II? The Donner cut in particular has lots of 2006 VFX shots that feel out of place in a 1970s film, and there's plenty of compositing in the theatrical cut that could be updated.
Hi, yes this has been a topic of conversation in the past... we haven't personally updated any of the Superman effects as such because someone else out there has already done it and it's bloody amazing...cleaned up all the composites and even updated some of the matte paintings etc... it was a fan edit of superman the movie but they were working on part II at the time... what we have done is a little different... as film editing is also a passion, we've done a complicated editorial combination of both Donner's and Lester's versions of Superman II into one movie... leaving out everything that borders on awful and using some of the better ideas from both films...we've had to tweak some visual effects of course so that aspect of both films marry together on screen...
@@DoubleOProductions really, who exactly did this Superman restoration?
@@codyj.braunva5406 Some woman who did her own restoration. I found it on a fan edit wedsite and it was amazing.
Is there any place where we could see the user submitted versions of Batman overlooking the city the first time we see him onscreen?
Your download links are down. Please help?!
I think the shot of Batman overlooking the city could be done with some 3D animation and maybe some digital painting to match the silhouette as seen in the movie
Best Batman movie, ever!
Hi! Just wanna ask, are you going to release this movie in full and fix version in your channel? If you are then I'm going to watch Batman (1989) all over again. It's just so awesome bro. So incredible that this type of editing existed and it so unfortunate that Tim Burton and Warner Brothers unable to do anything about it since back then the technology was not so advanced compared to nowadays. Just wish Tim Burton knowing your work and show him your editing and fix version of Batman (1989) and release worldwide in fix version and in 4K. He's gonna love it and pay you million of bucks for your hardwork. ☺

you did an awesome job here.
This is really impressive! Ultimately, I'm something of a purist, so my regard to remasters is leaving in warts and all in terms of mistakes but at a better resolution with the original audio and theatrical colors untouched, and that would be my ideal release of the Tim Burton Batman films... Would it be possible to request a version like that from you guys? 😁
I hope some talented fans send you their updates of that overhead shot!
Well done !
Thanks for the comment.... film available to everyone when we reach 1000 subscribers.
Very impressive. I dont' get why WB won't put out a really polished, updated version of this. Fix all the compositting errors, fix the animated Batman rooftop move, fix everything that's obviously a technical error, fix the bad miniature effect shots and give it a really nice picture treatment. The blue/green teal in 4K/BluRay release is terrible. Also i don't like the coloring of the 4K, it's oversaturated in many places. Also you get this ugly blur around most lit objects against a dark background - mostly people. And many places seems like it's overexposed as well. It all looks like it's been repainted and Photoshoped - like every single frame. Especially Joker's white face on a dark background. I much more prefer the 1080p version. Sharper and more natural image despite the resolution.
Great work
Wow! Great work. You've made it look fantastic. Where can I get a copy please.
Great job. Have you thought about fixing the Batman doll in the Batwing during the blimp scene? OR the floppy gauntlet scallops in The Batman when he and Catwoman are hiding from the cop?
I'm just curious. Have you guys found a fixed rooftop shot yet?
Alas no.... seems there isn't a creative out there up to the challenge... boooo
This is Bloody Fantastic! I've been considering doing a recut of Batman 89, if this restoration releases, Could I use it as The main source, I promise to give credit
Just some constructive criticism...you should probably go over the movie a bit more. What are you using as your sources to compare to? I know that it is not likely that most people are able to get their hands on a pristine film print which would be the best accurate source, but the 1080p Blu ray is still a good source for the colour. The laserdisc is also another great option if you have a copy. You did a pretty good job with the opening and Axis chemicals scene but you missed a lot of the teal that is sort of baked into the image. I still see so much teal in the "gassing" scene. There is quite a bit going on in a lot of those shots, especially with the actual gas being green but there are still whole shots that are full of teal. You got the skin tones to look a lot better.
I think this is really a great start though and I really appreciate your efforts. Thank you :)
ASTONISHING job!!! Can't wait To Download a Copy as My definitive version ❤️ Just One Thing... If i can, from a standpoint of Batman's strong presence in front of the Batmobile it would have been better to have him drop his arm after he calls the Batmobile and leave it down when the car comes in front of him, his posture would have been stronger. 👍
COMPLETELY AGREE...HOWEVER TRYING TO CORRECT HIS CAPE WOULD PROBABLY RESULT IN A HUGE HEADACHE... BUT WE AGREE WITH YOU.
@@DoubleOProductions thanks for the reply and apart from this small detail ... you have done a job at a very high professional level very very compliment ❤️👍... please when the download Will be available, it will be at an excellent quality right? will you do the same 4K treatment on the second film? 😊
Incredible work.
Although I liked the blue teal.
i love this is it possible to find this somehow?
I want to write that my name is Josh Tate and I'm writing that the year 2024 will not only be the 35th anniversary of Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film but it will also be Batman's 85th anniversary year too.
Very impressive and thorough correction. Fun fact; it's actually Keaton's motion double Carl Newman standing in at the end for the bat signal scene.
Now I don't blame Warner for not correcting issues that were present in the original film. Their duty is to present the film in its most faithful state. Though the two changes where that really came into question was the new color timing and the excised mono soundtrack.
