Count dooku was known for his dueling. Arguably top 5 best duelist in Star Wars, maybe top 3. That’s why he is always being jumped and 2v1ed in the Live action Star Wars video (anakin and obi) and in 3v1ed by the night sisters. Still usually coming out on top or still being smart enough to get away or distract them for long. He also used to be a Jedi before switching to the Darkside.

@@blakeboi6528 Nick Gillard described TPM Maul who was only 22 years old as a Tier 8 duelist, same as Dooku throughout the two movies. The novelization of TPM says Maul outclassed Obi Wan and Qui Gon at every corner.
Palpatine mastered every from of lightsaber, but Yoda had wayy more experience and was more skilled in them yes.
Obi Wan outclassed Maul on tattooine, but even then Maul was past his best, and even had parts missing from his legs, which the gallery on that episode points out.
Stylistically, Maul beats Dooku, his Juyo is too aggressive for Dooku's Makashi, which lacks the kinetic power to go against it, which is why he shows strain against a Anakin using Djem So another aggressive form. His Makashi counters Obi Wan's Soresu, which is why he makes quick work of Obi Wan in the 2v1s, he also tends to use the force to get rid of him while fighting Anakin, some theorise it's because he feared Obi Wan, I don't believe that tho.
Maul did even match Sidious briefly in a duel, even landing a kick on his former master, before Sidious decided to end the fight with the force.
I think the list is accurate in its listing, but it lacks detail, because I think Sidious, Vader, Dooku and Maul aren't far off from each other when it comes to pure dueling.

Magical information: while all other fights in the series was full animated, Ahsoka vs Maul is in fact a "real fight". It was made by motion capture and Maul fighter is Ray Park, same martial actor that brings Maul to life in The phantom Menace. Ahsoka was portrayed by Lauren Mary Kim, a stunt actress badass woman.
Fun fact: In The Phantom Menace, during the Obi-wan vs. Maul fight, actors move so fast that all of fight scenes between Ewan and Ray had to be slowed down in post-production. This time, nearly 30 years later, Ray still moving so fast that tracker camera and motion capture software went through a nightmare.

Count Dooku is played by Christopher Lee. The actor actually knew how to fence for real, so they gave Dooku a really unique fencing style saber form, and in the lore he's one of the best when it comes to lightsaber dueling. Hes not "Stronger" then most characters, but more proficient at saber combat specifically than most. Also he's "Count" Dooku because the actor played dracula in the 1958 iteration of that story, so its a fun little nod to it. He uses my favorite lightsaber style, "Makashi" form, which focuses on parry and critical countering

The clone wars had a bit of a whacky production style, especially in the first few seasons. Many of the episodes were released out of chronological order, for reasons that could pertain to creative decisions or network scheduling. This occasionally led to confusion when episodes would drop that actually preceded events seen in previous seasons, leaving fans questioning when everything was taking place. For example a character would die, only to show up in a later episode. Chronological/arcs is best.

For the movies, the release order is the best way to watch them; 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3. In terms of where they fall on the timeline, it's straight 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, but it doesn't hit as well the first time you watch them; you're supposed to watch them in the order that they were presented to the public it just works better that way the first time, so start with a New Hope through Return of the Jedi, then go to Phantom Menace through Revenge of the Sith
In terms of the time line, Clone Wars takes place between episodes 2 (Attack of the Clones) and 3 (Revenge of the Sith), but I recommend watching it after 3 in the release order. The reason for that is because Clone Wars fills in a lot of the gaps between episodes 2 and 3 but in many ways it's more clear in hindsight. Because you know what is going to happen in episode 3, when you watch Clone Wars, there is this extra sense of dread and suspense. I describe it as knowing that a plane crashed and then going back and seeing all the steps that led to it and all the ways it could have been prevented. It does recontextualize 1, 2, and 3, and I think that realization is just as much an experience as knowing the story
Whether you watch it before or after 7, 8, and 9 it really doesn't matter, those movies are so disconnected from the franchise it's not even funny.

  • @TheGreater-ScopeVillain

For when you watch Star Wars, know that the super-powerful hooded old man who wrecked both Darth Maul and Savage Opress with ease is the one and only *_Darth Sidious_* - the main villain of the entire Star Wars franchise, and probably the strongest being from it. Darth Sidious is known throughout pop culture as one of, if not THE, primary pure evil villain across all of fictional media. You’ll have a blast watching him throughout this series.

@@The_Modern_Nomads Oh, and one more thing I forgot to mention (no spoilers here, don’t worry): You know that other old guy who you guys loved with the lightning powers, Count Dooku? He’s 10 years older than Darth Sidious, but he’s also Darth Sidious’s *_apprentice._* Sidious’s previous apprentice was Darth Maul, and upon later taking Dooku as his new apprentice, Sidious taught Dooku the lightning power and gave him the title Darth Tyranus. That gives you an indication of just how powerful Darth Sidious is; despite everything you saw from Dooku/Tyranus, his master Sidious is way better.

i would recommend watching the clone wars after watching the movies in this order:
    a new hope
    the empire strikes back
    return of the jedi
    the phantom menace
    attack of the clones
    revenge of the sith
the last three are prequels to the first three, but it’s best to watch the movies in this order because then the impact of some scenes will hit harder.
the entirety of the clone wars show takes place in between the movies attack of the clones and revenge of the sith, so it would make sense to either watch it before watching revenge of the sith or after it (watching it after is better imo) hope this helped some!

The Clone Wars series takes place between Episodes 2 and 3, with the final season happening concurrently with the events in Episode 3. That last duel between Ahsoka Tano and Darth Maul -- which you only saw about half of -- is, IMO, the best lightsaber duel in all of Star Wars. It takes place near the end of the final season. If you're intending to watch the STar Wars fims and series', Darth Maul's presence in The Clone Wars is, unfortunately, kind of a spoiler. But you'll enjoy Clone Wars anyway.
