    Rise Up Rumi Poems
Rise Up powerful life poetry by Rumi, is one of the greatest life-changing poetry by the great writer Rumi.
Jalalud-Din Mohammad Rūmī was an ancient Persian scholar and Sufi mystic. Today he is considered one of the greatest poets who ever lived.
Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi, the 13th century mystic poet, was truly one of the most passionate and profound poets in history. Now, today his presence still remains strong, due in part to how his words seem to drip of the divine, and startle a profound remembrance that links all back to the Soul-Essence.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Full Poem:
    Rise Up - Rumi
    ------------------------
    Do not turn to look
at every beggar that beckons -
    you belong to me!
    Do not sell yourself short,
    For you are priceless.
Part the waters with your staff -
    you are today's Moses.
Tear through the cloak of fog!
    You are of the light,
    the same light as Mohammad.
Shatter the mirrors of the beautiful,
    you are the dazzling Joseph.
Blow the breath of life like Christ -
you, too, are of that air.
    Break away from the unscrupulous;
do not fall for the deceit of ghouls.
You are of noble origin -
you are from the highest high.
By spirit, you are deathless -
    imperishable;
    magnificent from within.
You belong to the glorious -
    you are of divine radiance.
What have you seen of your own beauty?
    You are still veiled...
    One dawn, like the sun,
you will rise up from within yourself.
It is a shame to be shrouded this way
    like the moon under cloud.
Tear through the cloud of body!
    You are the magnificent moon.
You are like a hawk whose feet are bound,
    tethered to the body -
It is with your own claws
that you must untie the knots.
How joyous is gold when it enters the fire!
for it is within the flames
where it can show its essence
    and radiate its virtues.
Do not run away from the fire's flames!
What will happen if you step into them
    for trial's sake?
    It will not burn you, I swear;
your face will glow, like gold.
    For you are Abraham's kin;
    ancient knowingness is yours.
No mine has a jewel like you!
This world has no life like you!
For this is the world of decay
    and you are life-giving life.

Sadly, evidence of anything resembling Rumi is lacking in every Muslim State: do you have in mind the Taliban? The Saudis? Assad the murderer, the Egyptian neo-pharaoh, the Jordanian despotic torturer, or even Indonesian corruption and oligarchy?
Few Muslims are Edward Said, even fewer comprehend liberty and Enlightenment values surpassed by the most advanced Social Democracies in northern Europe.
      Freedom, world peace,
good governance and science are incompatible with all religions; and Islamic States are generally and along almost every reasonable measure of well being misogynistic, backward dystopias who waste wealth without peer and provided almost no math or science of any value for 300 years.

Even though I love this poem, it is probably not from Rumi.
Here's why it's unlikely to be a traditional Rumi poem:
Authorship: Rumi's poems are typically collected in his major work, the Mathnawi. This poem isn't found in those collections.
Style: While the poem uses imagery and themes similar to Rumi, like the references to Moses, Mohammad, and the divine, the specific wording and phrasing aren't a direct match to Rumi's established style.
    Here are some possibilities:
Modern Interpretation: It's possible the poem is a modern interpretation of Rumi's ideas, written in a style that reflects the original but isn't a direct translation.
Spiritual Teacher: The poem could be the work of a spiritual teacher inspired by Rumi's teachings.
Overall, while the poem captures some of Rumi's essence, it's more likely to be a derivative work or modern interpretation than a poem directly written by Rumi himself.

      Here is the original Ghazal.

In this poem Rumi does not explicitly mention any specific person or group that Rumi is addressing. Instead, the poem is a general call to action for all those who seek spiritual enlightenment and connection with the divine.
In the poem, Rumi uses imagery of the sun rising and a bird singing as symbols of awakening to the spiritual realm. He encourages the reader to cast aside the distractions and limitations of the material world and rise up to a higher level of consciousness.
Overall, the poem can be seen as a universal message to all individuals who seek to deepen their spiritual understanding and connect with the divine, rather than a specific address to a particular person or group.
