    Thank you so so so much.... I just needed the idea of creating a surface to slice two intersecting cones. I learnt so many things just from this video. I am modelling my project in abaqus and the modelling environment is so unnecessarily complex. Hence I need to use a more friendly software like autocad 3D before exporting and analysing. I am glad to have seen your video. Thanks Again!!!!

    Hey Jay,
    Why didn't you went for solid extrude from start. You started with surface extrude then thickened it. If I start from solid extrude from beginning of drawing, will it matter or it will be same thing ???

    Its a cool vid. In the beginning you say the units don't matter and use the "default" however everyone's computer isn't set up the same. I opened Autocad and spent 15 mins trying to get past the first line because it went so far off the drawing surface that I couldn't see it or scroll out far enough (because it was 150 'units'). Maybe if we had started with setting up the units I could have made it through more than 1:06 of the video. Sucks because I really need the 3D practice. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I will check out one of your other ones and see if I can follow it.

    When I use prespull for circles at 6.59 min it becomes totally solid but in your video it Hollow

    Sir..i have a problem with my autocad software..its the 2010 version..the problem is i cant find all the toolbars on the home tab such as surface toolbar,parametric toolbar and also not able to see the View Cube on 3d wireframe ...also not able to see the Drawing number ,view names on the left top corner ..facing alot problems..kindly respond with the solution.

    Hi. I can't do the copy(7:30) like you . When I see Z axis and type 138, it gives me wrong result. I had to activate Ortho mode to get there. Can you tell me why ?

    I have completed this figure on CAD 2021 and it actually worked, though I had to go back many times to his given command. A lot of the commands he did is errorneous in the new version of the program.

    Hi Jay. Thank you for the help. I had a few issues. when I extruded the circles at the beginning, they came out as solid cylinders and thicken didn't work on them. I also had problems with slice.

      Start watching from 13:38, two geometries with different radii of internal circles are making that final concentric circle.

    My filet edge curves into the solid instead of outside of it. Is there a way to reverse the direction of the filet?

      PLS make sure the pieces are joined -union command- and use filletedge in the solid tab. good luck

    Easy to follow, BUT, after selecting the second 'Extrude' command and pulling the circle to the line, I have a problem. probably simple but the shaded command shows me two separate tubes, which are not connected as shown here. I have tried it numerous times but can't get it to connect. WHY? Thank you for any useful comments.

      select extrude command> get the mouse pointer over the surface and click CTRL key and move the mouse over the surface

    hello, i am working in autocad 2017 on mac and selection cycling isn't an option when i click on the gear in the bottom right corner, i cannot figure out how to turn on cycling. any help would be appreciated thank you

      Type SELECTIONCYCLING on the command line press enter, type 2 and press enter again. This will activate selection cycling. To deactivate it type SELECTIONCYCLING again press enter and change value to -2

      great thank you! one other thing, for snapping the z axis to a specific point i don't see the tool that you are using in the tutorial in my program or even the coordinates toolbar that it's in, I'm not sure if the mac version is just missing that feature, it does have the UCS toolbar
