  • I mean, when I said I wanted to film an adhd-vlog, I didn't think it would be everything it was supposed to be about and nothing like I planned. đŸ€— so here's a video about living with adhd as a creative, self-employed student with the best intentions and a brain that sometimes gets in the way. đŸŒ»

    💌 q&a:
where are you from? I currently live in berlin, but my heart is somewhere in scotland.
what do you study? I studied marketing + (political) communication and I’m currently studying psychology (with a hint of neuroscience, it’s a dream come true for me).
do you work? I’m currently working for a consultancy part-time while also doing photography jobs (behind the camera) and working on my dark academia novels + trying to write poetry every day (does that count as a job? I hope so)

Hi! I'm subscriber number 23. One of your videos popped up in my recommended feed and by now I've seen them all. I really enjoy the way you film your videos and how you express yourself. As a fellow writer I enjoy your musing about books and creativity in particular. Looking forward to more videos and warmest regards from the Netherlands!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a kind comment - it made me smile and feel like I'm not just rambling here. :) And now I'm definitely curious about your writing (or any good book you read recently if you'd like to share a recommendation). 🌾 Have a lovely day and warmest regards back from a very sunny Berlin! đŸŒ»

@@heyviviennemae My current read is something you might enjoy too, since I've gathered from previous videos you are fond of classical mythology retellings. I'm reading The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker, which is a retelling of the Illiad from the perspective of Briseis the moment she is captured and given to Achilles as his prize. A few years back I read The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and in comparison, even though the story as whole was heartwrenching, Briseis was treated with kindness whereas this book highlights the hardships the women that were claimed had to endure. I'd highly recommend it, though it is something you have to be in the mood for as it's rather harsh (but well written, lol). As for my own writing, I'm working on a gothic novel set in Victorian England. :)

@@martastanwick I'm pretty sure I actually already have The Silence of the Girls on my shelf - after reading Circe and The Song of Achilles last year I bought quite a few books that sounded similar and you just inspired me to finally read it (as well as The Women of Troy, I think that's also by Pat Barker if I remember correctly). :) During my last bookstore visit, I realised just how many mythological (and historical) retellings there are right now and was pretty intrigued by the one about Psyche and Eros and the one about Atalanta, so I suppose I'll dive back into that genre and turn this into a mythology-girl summer, haha. :) Thank you for your kind recommendation and have a lovely day!

I will have to look up the one about Eros and Phsyche, as I really love that myth! I finished The Silence of the Girls and as I found it interesting, I will definitely look into getting Women of Troy by Pat Barker as well (which is indeed part 2 of her trilogy on the topic). Hope you are having a lovely day as well! 🌾 :)
