Optaget ved DR Pigekorets forårskoncert i Holmens Kirke d. 8/3 2020. Koncerten var en af de første koncerter, der måtte gennemføres uden publikum pga. corona-krisen. Sammen med chefdirigent Phillip Faber hylder DR Pigekoret foråret med danske salmer og sange, nordiske værker og nyskrevne arrangementer. Koret uropfører bl.a. to værker af komponisterne Louise Alenius og Line Tjørnhøj side om side med klassiske salmer som 'Se, nu stiger solen', ’Som forårssolen morgenrød' og sange af bl.a. Agnes Obel, Teitur og Phillip Faber selv.

Translation: Recorded at the DR Girls' Choir's spring concert in Holmens Church on 8/3 2020. The concert was one of the first concerts that had to be held without an audience due to the corona crisis. Together with chief conductor Phillip Faber, the DR Girls' Choir pays tribute to spring with Danish hymns and songs, Nordic works and newly written arrangements. The choir premieres i.a. two works by the composers Louise Alenius and Line Tjørnhøj side by side with classical hymns such as 'See, now the sun rises', 'Som fårssolen morgenrød' and songs by e.g. Agnes Obel, Teitur and Phillip Faber himself

Within the space of a day, the Pigekoret drops two new pieces of choral repertoire that I'm saying again will be sung by just about every high school and college choir out there.
This one is amongst the most theatrical pieces of choral music I have ever seen. Really stunning. Also, despite the girls reading from books, they kept most of their attention on Phillip and not on the notes. I've seen many a CZcams video of choirs with books who just don't look up, and it really doesn't do anything for the performance.
