I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. Sir, the man at the piano is Mr. Rob Christie, chief of RR Studios LA, Grammy winner and today a friend of Angelina. She plays piano and guitar, that I saw myself, it´s said she can play violin and flute, that i´m not so sure. AJ speaks fluently Norwegian, English, Farsi/Persisan and Japanese, als it is said she speaks Swedish, (dad an relatives are Swedish). Cole McCarthy has produced several of Angelina's music videos, and Mery Zaman is Angelina's maternal grandmother. She was the person who recognised Angelina's uniqueness at a very early age and introduced her to all the old 1920s - 1950s classic jazz, blues and soul singers. She and Angelina are very close. . Indeed, Angelina has an exceptional, loving family who have supported her from the start and still do. They were determined from the outset that Angelina would enjoy as normal a childhood as possible, with the emphasis on her education, and turned down all offers from the major record companies to sign her to their label until she and they considered she was ready to do so. In August 2020 she signed with Republic Records with a contract which is said to allow her complete artistic freedom. I am certain you know that the song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).
She grew up singing Jazz and this is obviously her favorite genre, the biggest influence, the origination of her versatility, deep soulful expression and deep emotional connection to her audience. She can sing any song and any genre. She is absolutely fearless in choice of covers. No artist is too big and no song too daunting. Most Artists shy away from singing Acappella as it will quickly show any flaws. Elvis Presley and his producer Felton Jarvis cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original arrangement completely and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version) and of course with Elvis Presley's voice. Pianist Rob Christie changed the musical arrangement and Angelina the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyric structure, starting with the bridge and giving the song a different meaning. There is another fun fact that I noticed... Angelina's guitar was NOT a PROP as some reactors have commented in the past. She plays guitar as well as several other instruments. She could have used any guitar but she chose to pay homage to the king by using that particular model. Elvis used that guitar model in his '68 TV Comeback Special. But watch out which version you take: From "I'm a fool to want you" which in Norske Talenter AJ sings a capella there is a shorter version because there are 54 seconds cut out. And these 54 seconds are so good - even with speaking in - but the good thing of this version is, that you can't hear that there is something missing: AJ hit exactly the notes even after nearly a minute... Yeah, this is what Angelina does..she drags an iconic song back to her cave and to a greater or lesser degree re-imagines it, makes it her own, and in effect, reintroduces it to the public. But her originals are 'shield' and 'what is life' at 12. "million miles' and '7th heaven' at 14 under her label Republic records. Should be on her upcoming album that would suggest. All her Adele covers and everything mentioned there are very solid suggestions IMO, but what isn't. My favorites are probably 'Million Miles' and 'My funny valentine', her more recent one. Elvis' version is great, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own.
When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot?
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina penetrates hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. Cole McCarthy has produced several of Angelina's music videos, and Mery Zaman is Angelina's maternal grandmother. She was the person who recognised Angelina's uniqueness at a very early age and introduced her to all the old 1920s - 1950s classic jazz, blues and soul singers. She and Angelina are very close. . Indeed, Angelina has an exceptional, loving family who have supported her from the start and still do. They were determined from the outset that Angelina would enjoy as normal a childhood as possible, with the emphasis on her education, and turned down all offers from the major record companies to sign her to their label until she and they considered she was ready to do so. In August 2020 she signed with Republic Records with a contract which is said to allow her complete artistic freedom.
I am certain you know that the song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song.
The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family.
Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).

I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani.
She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Elvis Presley and his producer Felton Jarvis cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original arrangement completely and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version) and of course with Elvis Presley's voice. Pianist Rob Christie changed the musical arrangement and Angelina the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyric structure, starting with the bridge and giving the song a different meaning. Great reaction! Her Grandma, Mery Zamani, helped produced this. She used the same store (Melrose Gallery) she used for her My Funny Valentine and I Have Nothing videos. Her sister Juliette was the older girl and the 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids. 2- time Grammy winner Rob Christie is on piano once again. He is also the music director of Republic Records, the music company she is signed with. The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. The black suit and red guitar was a classic look for Elvis from his comeback concert. What a performance and homage to The King!

There is another fun fact that I noticed...
Angelina's guitar was NOT a PROP as some reactors have commented in the past. She plays guitar as well as several other instruments. She could have used any guitar but she chose to pay homage to the king by using that particular model. Elvis used that guitar model in his '68 TV Comeback Special. A Hagstrom '67 Viking II Semi-Hollow Body, Transparent Wild Cherry, which recently sold at auction for $500,000 dollars.

That's Rob Christy on piano and she also plays 5 instruments and at least 4 languages English is her 3rd language and she recorded her first studio song in English and sang all her 4 songs on Norway got talent at 7years old and then I put a spell on you at 9 years old she has made over 130 covers in which most she personally remakes them her own including several she had to change the lyrics before her mom would let her record them so they were age appropriate,, her Amy Winehouse song she changed them in the car going to a photo shoot then to record when she was 10... she is unbelievable and so humble and caring for less fortunate children in the world look up her story on performing barefoot since she was 6 and still does at 16

In the show "Norske Talenter" (The Norwegian Got Talent) she sung her seconde performance a cappella. But watch out which version you take: From "I'm a fool to want you" which in Norske Talenter AJ sings a capella there is a shorter version because there are 54 seconds cut out. And these 54 seconds are so good - even with speaking in - but the good thing of this version is, that you can't hear that there is something missing: AJ hit exactly the notes even after nearly a minute... Yeah, this is what Angelina does..she drags an iconic song back to her cave and to a greater or lesser degree re-imagines it, makes it her own, and in effect, reintroduces it to the public. But her originals are 'shield' and 'what is life' at 12. "million miles' and '7th heaven' at 14 under her label Republic records. Should be on her upcoming album that would suggest. All her Adele covers and everything mentioned there are very solid suggestions IMO, but what isn't. My favorites are probably 'Million Miles' and 'My funny valentine', her more recent one. Although watching her sing for Jonathon Sugarfoot Moffett recently in short vids is even better, wonder if he was drumming in a few songs for her album. She went all out for him, 'Billy Jean' MJ, too short to react to, and 'I have nothing' Whitney Houston. Edit, her tiktok cover of 'crazy' by Patsy Cline is also maybe my favorite, and one of her longer tiktok's. Accidentally listened to it for like half hour the other day.
