- Soul Music is a seven-part animated television adaptation of the book of the same name by Terry Pratchett, produced by Cosgrove Hall, and first broadcast on 12 May 1997. It was the first film adaptation of an entire Discworld novel (following the Welcome to the Discworld short, which was based on a fragment of the novel Reaper Man). At this point I wouldn't even be mad if Disney+ or Netflix picked it up. This story deserves a reincarnation. And the books as a whole are ripe for the picking

If you liked this, do yourself a favour and read the Discworld books. Terry Pratchett was a master storyteller.
And he got better through the Discworld series.

The opening sequence seems a bit inaccurate, because I'm pretty sure the sun doesn't go under Great A'tuin. I think it goes under the elephants since one of them has to cock it's leg for the sun to continue its orbit.
I think they did that for easier animation. If it's any consolation, they got it right for the opening of Reaper Man.

I suspect that someday, when I do die, it will be that the death that greets me will be some combination of this guy Didi from the DC universe and the death from soul eater. Mostly because those these those three are the deaths that I am most familiar with .

I think that David Jason was the problem. He made Alberto Malich into a dodgy garden gnome rather than a crafty and once very powerful wizard, and brought too much "Del boy" baggage with him.
