    Here in the US we can get hooks with swinging extra wide gap worm hooks that have a head. Hoss makes some with football shaped heads. You would probably really like them for jerk shads and paddle tails. It's basically a weedless jig head and the weight is free swinging like the rig you made with the ball weights. Maybe you should try to find some. Here you can get them from Salt Strong. Their Power Prawns are amazing too.

      Ah yes there is a good brand called TT - Lures over here that make some good ones also.
      This is just a cheaper way to do it, buy a few packets of hooks and ball sinkers and you can chop and change all you want.
