- This is the14th dev log for Blue Sky Aces, a WW1 flight simulator for those wanting more action and less fluff in their flight simulators.
In this video I cover the big improvements to the mouse handling in the 3rd person view. If you're interested in implementing something like this yourself, or are just curious how it works, then I'd suggest checking out this link which has some great information and source code: github.com/brihernandez/Mouse...
Other items discussed include the addition of bombs and rockets, and the rather comical bug that was fixed as a result of these, as well as the addition of a new preferences screen where you will be able to customize the game further to your liking.

One mission idea I've thought about is acting as a tail gunner for a bomber. Would be an interesting switch up I reckon. Anyways keep up the amazing work!
Yeah I've had a task in the back of my mind for a while to be able to switch into the gunner's position. At this stage it's just time limitations that have prevented me from investigating this option. The idea of flying an entire mission in this position could work like a bit of a mini-game.
This is progressing really well, can't wait
Cheers
This randomly popped up in my feed but this game looks really cool, ill check it out later. Good luck with the development!
Hey thanks, and I hope you enjoy it.
Great work 💪
Thank you! Cheers!
Ooo this looks promising, hope you keep on at it and overthrow War Thunder! 😊
Cheers, that's a pretty big goal, but we'll give it a good crack.
Could you tell me when this update comes out on Stean? Why haven't I been able to get this update into the game yet?
Hi, there was an update put out about 3-4 weeks ago which contained most of the features in the video, except for the preferences screen which was supposed to be released last weekend, however I discovered an unrelated bug that I'm working on now that prevented the release. This is unfortunately the same reason why I haven't put out another video yet. My goal at this stage is to get an update out this weekend which will contain the preferences screen and a number of other minor enhancements and bug fixes.
@@CuriousDogGames ok, thank you very much for your attention
Just a quick update, I've pushed out a new demo update which contains the preferences screen plus a number of other minor improvements and bug fixes.
