agreed the older locos where unique and built differently but to save money the pacers where cheap but where bad units cuase they bounced across the entire British network and lasted all the way up until 2020 but the old locos are preserved in heiritage railways
Drove all these 101s/108s during my 22 years as Driver at Piccadilly..far better units than the 142s.
